Luc: The product looks good quality. The instructions suck. You can get by with the install instructions but user manual is non existent. I use this for my off-grid camp with 5gpm RV water pump. It’s probably at the lower end of the flow requirements. That’s when you wish you had instructions to help you out. I think I finally have it figured out.

Jessie: Well it makes the water hot, however the temperature is not consistent at all. Someday its 160 others barely over 100. So when it's too hot you turn the dial down in the shower and get blasted with cold water because the heater shuts off.. . It's annoying .

Plantslayer: The only issue I have with this water heater, and it's really annoying that would lead me to purchase digital...is that you cant accurately set the temperate, even if you run the water and get it set to 120 degrees and it will seem solid. The next time you run it, it will just be completely random and go up to like 150 degrees randomly.. or be down at 70 at which point you gotta fiddle with the dial.

It could be of coarse that I am the idiot and im doing something wrong, im always open to that.

Mary Thompson: Do not buy this product if you live in a very cold region during the winter months!!!! It worked for us for two weeks in December. Water got hot but takes awhile to heat up (about 2 minutes). Once it's hot it's hard to regulate the temp from scolding to freezing even if you set the temp to what you like. However, that is not the worst of our problems. It worked for two weeks we used it then....a major freeze occurred!! I know the product description says it has freeze protection. It absolutely does not! If you have to do all the of the leg work yourself to make sure it doesn't freeze, that is not freeze protection! We had a major freeze in VA two days before Christmas and no problems occurred with the heater until everything started to defrost a few days later. We were out of town and ended up with a flood in our home while we were gone and all due to the water heater exploding! We opened it up to see inside and sure enough two pipes had holes in them! We also noticed how cheap looking the inside components of the heater were! The pipes look aluminum and not copper. This is probably why it burst because this is obviously a cheap product! Mike J PetersonMike J Peterson: I purchased this to provide hot water for my cabin. It is a small place with one full bathroom and a kitchen. The good.. for the price, I'm happy with the functionality and simplicity. It was fairly easy for me to install and the controls are straight forward. It fires up as soon as the hot water is turned on and raises the temperature of the water. It works to provide just enough heating to run one fixture at a time. With a flow limiting shower head it gives a hot shower but the sink on full blast will out-run the heating capacity. On the flip side, if not enough flow is demanded it over-heats and shuts down. The install was about what I expected. The exhaust had to be adjusted to use the existing (old) 3 inch water heater vent. The provided vent pipe is not a standard diameter, is quite short, and does not come with a wall thimble.

Scott S.: Bought this as a cheap alternative to replace failed tank heater. Was not sure what to expect for such a low cost heater but after 2 months of use, have been quite pleasently suprised.
Instalation was fairly straight forward with the exception of needing to plug in, which I fortunately had nearby recertacle. Water and gas lines hook on with common fittings. I did put a T&P valve in the water line along with gas pressure regulator (recomended/required by most codes) which are not included.
Venting will depend on your paticular installation. I was able to install with the included vent pipe but may require additional vent pipe depending on your paticular needs.
As this is a base/entry level model, temp. control is basic and takes some patience. Maual does not explain how to set very well which is why tech support got 3 stars. Was able to figure out on my own but no one should have to waste a lot of time on phone to get info on setup that should be in manual.
Overall, has performed well over last couple of months. As it is a smaller unit, best suited for anyone who does not have high demand for hot water, as will not run multiple faucets at one time. Great for small...
