Likes Toast: I soak two packages in plenty of water with about a tablespoon + of salt overnight in the fridge. Makes a big batch. They cook up so tender and creamy, you can mash them with your tongue. One of our favorite staples, we make enough to freeze several portions and it doesn't seem to affect the texture at all. These beans don't have the dark red skins of what I would call a kidney bean, they are a lighter pinkish-brown with a tender skin.

Tyrone A Edmond: Just what I've been looking for. I'm currently stationed overseas and boy I can tell you it's hard to find many ingredients like at home(New Orleans). Unfortunately, even at the commissary on base they don't sell these :( Thank God for Amazon! Now I can make a good ol' pot of beans just like my mama and grandma used to make.
