mori: Born and raised in New Orleans, Camelia beans are second to none. The beans shipped were not old and cooled up readily so i could bring some New Orleans Red Beans home.

Ronnie Schenkein: I wasn't sure whether I was being silly to order expensive beans when you can get red beans much cheaper at the supermarket. But the flavor is exceptional, and I really like the recipe for New Orleans Style Red Beans and Rice on the package. It's the recipe I've been wishing for for years! I have re-ordered these several times. Try them. You'll like them.

Mark B: These are very fresh. They cook in less time and taste better than the kidney beans on plastic bags. They are better than the beans from whole foods. I make a batch of rajmah every week and I go through a lot of beans and these beans are the best. I bought these because whole foods ran out and the Indian grocery store was closed because of the pandemic and I will never go back.

Irish PrincessIrish Princess: The media could not be loaded.  I bought these beans a couple months ago, to store. We put them in 5-gallon sealed buckets, with oxygen absorbers, we have a commercial kitchen in our home, I do know how to store dried beans. These are possibly the worst dried beans I have ever purchased. I didn't really look at them when we bought them because I thought oh they're Camellia they'll be great , I have bought their beans in the one pound packages in the past, and they have been First Quality. I didn't really look at them, we just put them in the 5-gallon and sealed it. I opened the bucket today to make red beans and rice for tomorrow, to get the red beans ready to soak tonight. As soon as I looked at the beans I knew there was something wrong. Some of them looked moldy, there were many that were split already, and most of them the Skins were already wrinkled. I picked over a pound, and put them in the water to soak. As you can see from the pictures and the video this is approximately an hour and a half after putting them into soak, the beans started to split almost immediately, they look absolutely awful. The worst part is, I paid $75 for a huge bag of beans, and I'm going to...

Grammy Rocks: I looked on Amazon for Kidney beans because the bulk beans at the local markets looked crappy. They had a lot of broken beans and looked kind of dirty. The organic and conventional grown beans looked like they came from the same bag. (Wouldn’t be the first time this grocer did something like this!) The price seemed kind of high and the “organic” were a dollar more per pound. I found all this pretty disappointing and living in a small town where choices are few I checked here! (The real reason for Amazons success is about choices and filling that void)
So here I am in my favorite store! My laptop!
I was kind of worried about buying 25 pounds and risk getting the same junk I would get locally. The price per pound was good and the reviews seemed to good to be true. The one poor review seemed pretty weak and all the good ones were adamant about how good these beans are. I was also thinking would we be able to eat these before they get stale.
Got the bag and opened to see some really beautiful beans! I repacked them back into large jars for storage. In the whole bag I found 1 small piece of a broken bean and I don’t think it came from any of “my” beans. These beans...
