Jen B: The best binoculars for beginners. They are auto focus so there is nothing to dial in or adjust. Just put them to your eyes and that is it. They have good clarity and magnification for general use.

whatever: these binoculars do not have an adjustable focus. from reviews i've read for other Bushnell's products with this "permafocus" technology, it seems it works great for most eyes but not all. i'm in the didn't-work-for-me minority i guess, but even if i weren't i'm pretty sure i'd prefer a pair of binoculars i can adjust myself. i purchased direct from mfgr, but returned for this reason.

S BROWN: I like all aspects of this . No complaints. I do wish I had gotten the 7x 45 model. This 7/35 is actuall meant for sports, however I can see far out in Lake Ontario. Just not quite as far clearly as the 45 model I had before. Recommend

Bruce: If you have never used focus-free binoculars, these will be a treat. Traditional binoculars have two focus rings: one that focuses both eyes at the same time and a second (usually called "the diopter") that focuses one eye only (usually the right eye) to balance focus between the two eyes.
The routine for traditional binoculars is
1) look through the binoculars at a distant object
2) close the eye that has the diopter adjuster
3) use the "both eye focus" adjuster to bring the non-diopter eye into focus
4) close the eye you have been using and open the other "diopter" eye
5) bring this object into focus
6) move the view to what you want to look at
7) use the "both eye focus" knob to bring both eyes into focus.
Now hand the binoculars to your buddy who will need to repeat the process to adjust the binoculars for their eyes.
With these binoculars, the process is:
1) look at whatever you want. It will be in focus. Hand the binoculars to your buddy. It will be in focus for them, too.
Other advantages of focus-free: simpler mechanics which are more resistant to drop damage.
Also, the 7x35 format is the most...
