Howard: This is a great fishing knife. Was worried I"d have a traditional fishing knife in my backpack fishing and on the muddy banks of river fishing, may slip and could stab yourself in the back with your own knife! With the folding knife, it is very sharp and i continue to sharpen after every use and works well. Most of all, it is safe to carry in the back of my fishing vest or backpack without the worry of the cover coming off and getting stabbed.

I liked this knife so much, i purchased another back up! Price of about $34 was well worth the safety aspect. Have used over the past 5 years!

Mr Clark: I was pleasantly surprised at how well made this knife is. I previously bought a different folding fillet knife on Amazon (the one with the orange handle and black blade). That knife was okay for the price but the blade was too thin and I wasn’t able to sharpen it to a good edge. The Buck knife is much sturdier and the blade was very sharp right out of the box. Overall it’s a great knife

jaluro27: Das Klapp- Filiermesser hat eine handliche Größe mit rutschfestem Griff. Ich wollte ein Filiermesser mit Klappfunktion, da es in einer Messerscheide mir zu lang erschien. Ich kann den Artikel nur weiterempfehlen.

Mirko: Messerkauf ist Ansichtssache und so habe ich mir drei Filetiermesser zur Auswahl bestellt: dieses und zwei Marttiini  Marttiini Lachsmesser, ohne, 902819 , Marttiini Messer Finnisches Filiermesser, preiswert, Klinge 19 cm, rostfrei, Kunststoff-Scheide 904619 . Das Buck liegt hervorragend in der Hand, ist massiv und sehr gut ausbalanciert (besser als die Klappmesser-Variante:  Buck Filiermesser Silver Creek, 420J2 Stahl mit, T ). Die Klinge ist sehr scharf, jedoch nicht so flexibel wie ich es von meinem WMF-Küchenmesser zum Filetieren kenne. Noch ein wertfreier Hinweis: Diese Serie lässt Buck in China fertigen. Fazit: Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, klare Kaufempfehlung!

wormdunker: Sent it back and ordered the folding version of same knife. Folding version easily fits in pocket and handier to use in boat etc. Holds a great edge whilst filleting fish and easily brought back to form with a few passes on a small steel which I also carry in my pocket. I own several good fillet knives, none are as good as this .

Toby Garcia: I bought this knife to throw in a fishing package for my little brothers christmas gift. Out of the fishing shirts, lures, baby wipes (nice when that coffee starts activating your insides on a boat with no toilet), etc., this was his favorite. In the past three weeks I'd say it's received a decent amount of use - enough so that I can post an honest review.

Sharpness - 5/5
Right out of the box, this knife is razor sharp - it will shave a baby's bottom like section of arm hair on your forearm with just two light passes of the knife. If you happen to graze the blade at any speed, it will cut your skin...very sharp...which is awesome for a fillet knife.

Flexibility - 4/5
Has a nice bend to it, It's stiff enough to get into some medium sized trout or redfish and still flexible enough to separate the skin from the meat when filleting. I like a little more bend in the knife so I don't have to tilt the knife down to horizontal while filleting - I'd say I like to be at a 25º angle, this one probably puts me at 18º from horizontal (not actual angles, just the way it feels to me)

Corrosion Resistance ?/5 - so far a 5/5 but time will tell
No rust as this blade...
