Brother MFC-J4535DW INKvestment Tank All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer: Get Professional-Quality Prints with Low Maintenance

AW: Call me a glutton for punishment or simply stupid but I just purchased the exact printer I had previously. The previous printer (same make and model) quit printing exactly 15 days after the 2 year warranty expired. I just purchased $275.00 in XL cartridges which were rendered useless.

After multiple calls to support and numerous same type tests (which I had also done multiple times), it was finally decided the printer's printer heads were dried out. This meant they could not be cleaned. Not worth fixing so junked the printer.

Purchased a second because I had the ink which I opened because the previous printer ran out of ink. It did not occur to me it would never print again. The only good point is the price is the same as it was 2 years ago on sale.

Meanwhile, I purchased an expensive Epson printer to replace the previous Brother printer which quit working. That printer was dead on arrival. After several calls to support, I was informed the printer was defective. Again, I had to go through multiple steps over and over again since I had to call in twice. I had also completed these steps many times on my own.

Will return Epson...

ÁGATHA DINIZ: Would have given 5 stars, but I don’t really like the quality of the scan for scanning photos and I find the app less interesting that the one I used with my HP. But for the price, good printer.

Amazon Customer: This printer is a great value for your money.
Working from home from time to time as a legal / conveyancer, this printer is perfect for all my needs.
Downloading the available apps allows you to do many things that a normal printer cannot do. Plus you get loads of ink with this model of printer. I do not have to keep replacing the ink cartridges every month or so due to the large amount of printing my job requires.
Would definitely purchase another model like this in the future.

Amazon Customer: An absolute waste of time. Do not buy this Printer if you want to save your marriage. Paper Jammed right at setup and won't allow you to reset. Unplugged and different paper loaded. Still Jammed. Disappointed and returned, marriage is questionable.

Ron D: Had an upper end Canon printer previously and this one blows it away. Ink cartridges last forever (Seems like it) and are far less expensive then Canon. Print quality is exceptional, and it's fast ! What else could you ask for in a printer ? 👍

Ed: After 1 month ownership, I have used for printing, scanning & copies in black & in color. All come out out clear & work well as expected. I use the App to print wirelessly & works great. No complications. Have not used Fax yet. But was easy to set up. Prints quietly & pretty quickly. I am coming from a 12 year old HP All in One (that finally died), I used to run a Small Business with 100's of pages printed weekly that served me well. It printed a little faster & was noisier & the cost of ink was expensive. I am not using this Brother printer with same usage, so it remains to be seen on Ink costs & reliability. But so far so good. There was an ink shortage for this printer, but it comes with 1 year's worth of ink & the inks are now coming back to availability.

Amazon Customer: This is a really nice personal or home office printer. It’s all you could possibly need! It was easy to set up, although there are a few features I haven’t figured out yet. It has great print quality, photo prints are ok, not exceptionally great, but good nonetheless. It prints, copies, scans and faxes. What more could you need?! Well, what I need is to figure out how to get the NFC feature to work. My iPhone does have that capability as does the printer but I haven’t figured out how to get it to work yet. But it’s probably just me, not the fault of the printer. But that’s the only reason I deducted a star; it shouldn’t be this hard to figure out.

The previous printer I had worked great (Epson) for a few months and then the nozzles starting getting badly clogged and nothing would remedy the problem, so it went into the trash. This new printer is flawless so far (but I am holding my breath!)
The set-up was a bit tedious, but I had a sense that this might be because the printer was more sophisticated than any I had had previously - and my assumption seems to have been correct. It is quite impressive compared with all my previous printers.
For example, the printer stays connected to my Wifi better than I am used to (although, for a brief time, on rare occasions it has required me to turn it off and then on to get it to print). It also has multiple feeds, which all work quite well. It seems to be more "automatic" with set-up for print jobs - very smooth.
The print quality is excellent - and the print-outs are pretty speedy.
In short, I have never been so impressed at this stage of ownership. I will not hesitate to update this review if I become dissatisfied.
UPDATE 8 MONTHS LATER:
For several weeks the printer was misbehaving in terms of staying connected...
