This book is a sweet book on dreams and how parents spend time teaching their kids about God’s love. It shows two sides of following/loving God our creator. A really good book for children, parents, Sunday school teacher and everyone who loves children.: I was introduced to this book by a sermon on a church and I got my hand on this later. This book was for me and still is for me. Anytime I feel blue it reminds me to remember God’s faithful unending love and promises for me. It doesn’t go astray from Gospel. Others life journey really encourage our life. Must read if you are looking for some good motivation encouragement through Gods people and God’s words

Heather L.: The first half of the book took me forever. Maybe I wasn't in the right season of life yet or maybe it's bc it all seemed so obvious. But the 2nd half of the book, wow! Couldn't put it down. The 2nd half kind of basically tells you how to implement what you've learned and maybe it's bc by that point if you've been really working the book, you will have already started to see progress. Whatever it is, it hooked me. This book really helped me start to come out of one of the darkest storms of my life. It has lead to me reading more books that are helping me heal. They are all adding value to my healing but this was a great place to start and one that I plan to continue to implement the rest of my life.

Amber Ficklin: "Get Out of Your Head: Stopping the Spiral of Toxic Thoughts" by Jennie Allen is an absolute game-changer!
From the moment I dove into the pages of this remarkable book, I knew I was embarking on a life-changing journey. Jennie Allen's words have a way of resonating deep within your soul, as if she's speaking directly to you, guiding you through the tangled maze of toxic thoughts that can often consume our minds.
What sets this book apart is its authenticity and vulnerability. Jennie shares her own personal struggles and triumphs, creating an atmosphere of trust and relatability. Through her stories, she brings the concept of toxic thoughts to life, allowing readers to recognize and confront their own patterns of negative thinking.
The practical guidance and tools provided in this book are invaluable. Jennie offers practical strategies and biblical wisdom to help break free from the cycle of toxic thoughts. She encourages us to renew our minds, embrace the power of gratitude, and discover the true identity and purpose that lies within us.
The writing style is engaging and conversational, making complex concepts easy to grasp and apply to our own lives....

Tamara: I'll start this review off by saying, if you're not open to the possibility of God, or you're not willing to hear it from that perspective, this is *not* the book for you!! And that's okay. But, luckily for me, this book was exactly what I needed and came at the perfect time.
Jennie Allen has a way of writing that will keep you hooked. I found myself taking breaks from work just so I could sit and read it. If I was feeling anxious, especially at outings, just reading a page would relax me. It shows you that those deep, dark thoughts are more normal than you think, and you can get rid of them. Jennie had been in a dark place for 18 months, the exact same place I went to these past months. Her insight helps you gain a new perspective on it and change your mindset.
I'm sure this book isn't for everyone, but if you've experienced anxiety and stress, it might just be for you. It helped me so much. Every morning for the past few months I've had morning sickness from anxiety, until only recently. This is because the first thing I do every morning is open my Jennie Allen book (i'm reading another one now!!), and straight away I feel the tension fade away.
An amazing book. I...

Ian Acheson: Allen wrote this book in response to her own 18 month struggle with toxic thoughts that made her question her faith and everything about her relationship with Jesus. Like all of Allen's books, she expresses herself courageously and directly which I always enjoy. She provides a practical and informed perspective on Scripture too.
The book starts reflecting on one of my favourite verses from Romans 12:2 - "Be transformed by the renewal of your mind". This is what Jesus desires for us when we enter into relationship with Him. It's only through a mind transformation that we can become more like Him and lead a life to His glory.
The book is split into three sections:
1. All the Thoughts - this is a series of chapters on the various ways we get imprisoned by our thoughts
2. Taking Down the Enemies of Our Minds - this provides practical solutions to stopping the thoughts
3. Thinking as Jesus Thinks - 2 short chapters on validating our identity in Christ and using Scripture to transform the negative thoughts.
There were some really good sections (Chapter 12 was a personal favourite). I found some of the real life examples Allen used were a bit weak in...

No King But Christ: Universal principles but written for a female audience. Sample was not enough for me to pick up on this. Not a big deal but letting folks know.
I bought this as a renew your mind / speak the word refresher course of sorts. Certainly helpful if you are new to the "genre" but had more filler than other books I have read on the subject. Honestly, I started skimming from about 35% to 75% and then quit the book altogether.
Two general observations.
1. I do not believe people who take anti-(fill in the blank) meds are necessarily sinning. God would have to address that matter with the individual. On the other hand, dig deep into those meds and you will see that many are essentially the legalized form of illicit drugs. We wage war on crystal meth and yet prescribe Adderall like it is candy. In my BC life I was a drug addict and know full well the connection between drugs and the supernatural. I am not certain the Church is taking this issue seriously enough. I am not certain if the Church is really getting to the ROOT of the problem and so as a result looks askance at our dependence on narcotics to cope with the symptoms. The author admits that members of her family...
