Paul: Wer kauft sich im Jahre 2023, im Zeitalter von Smartphones, die (fast) alles können, noch einen Taschenrechner im Retro-Design mit nur wenigen Funktionen? Und das für 17,99 Euro, obwohl es im Billigkaufhaus um die Ecke billige Taschenrechner für 2,99 gibt?
Keine Ahnung, wer das außer mir noch macht, aber ich bin dabei.
Warum?
Er tut das was er soll, nämlich rechnen. Und zwar schneller als ich es im Kopf kann. Und, und das ist für mich das Entscheidende, er sieht dabei richtig gut aus.
Mir gefallen vor allem die seidenmatt glänzenden, runden Tasten in den kräftigen, aber nicht aufdringlichen und gut aufeinander abgestimmten Farben Schwarz, Grün, Braun, Gelb und Rot ausgesprochen gut.
Ich freue mich immer, wenn es was zu rechnen gibt und ich diesen Taschenrechner zur Hand nehmen kann. Was braucht es mehr?

Mark WatsonMark Watson: The media could not be loaded.  Got this calculator because the original iPhone calculator was based on its look (old iOS UIs with the skeuomorphic design language). I can’t complain there - it looks awesome.

The plastic and materials don’t feel like the highest quality, but it seems sturdy and comes with a cover. The button feel is decent - about as good as a Casio, but not as satisfying as an HP. Better than a random brand. The display is slightly hard to see in low light, but that’s because it’s not illuminated I think. Contrast is fine.

I like the functions - standard math plus some handy percentage change features and memory. The percentage functions seemed a little confusing at first, but there’s a nice guide on the back which explains how to use everything in a very simple way.

Zeb: This is more than a mere calculator. It is a work of art as well. Designed by the famous Braun designer Dieter Rams. The products that he designed are legendarily beautiful. It is now made in China but still very high quality. I personally beleive that special products like this should be made in the country of design.

It is almost impossible to find a simple calculator that is high quality - this one is!

Joseph Ganassa: So I feel compelled to write a review and I don't usually. Part of the reason is because of how expensive this calculator is. I just received it and my first thoughts/impressions are:
PROS
- build quality is great, but still feels amazingly light. Perfect for my work bag
- button feel is top notch. I was worried they wouldn't have the click I need. Calculators are usually so mushy and I need to be able to click with speed!
- has a case for protection. Love that
CONS
- my biggest thing with calculators is the fact that they move when I type on them. I am a fast button masher and probably push too hard. but they never have enough grip to stay on the counter without moving. This calculator ALMOST solves the problem. It has four little nubs on the bottom of the unit. However, only the top 2 are rubberized. The bottom two are plastic. WHY? The top 2 have great grip. If the bottom two were rubberized, this would be absolutely perfect
- LCD screen is a tad too small and I wish it was angled more towards me as it lays flat on the counter

I will update later to see if I think this stands up to my daily use!

S K: ...dropping fifty bucks on a calculator that does not accomplish more than the average item from the dollar store seems plain crazy!
It also does not brew coffee, let the dog out for his business or anything comparable....

But the design is so beautiful that I just had to have one (again). Design and function go hand-in-hand, so to speak.
All the math-cliffs I need to sail, I navigates me safely around.
Not having an eyesore on the desk is certainly well worth the investment, too!
