TL;DR: I'm a home brewing coffee snob and I love this thing. I bought it just for when guests visit but now use it daily for myself because it works great.
I've made coffee via pretty much every viable home brewing option. I love very strong, highly caffeinated stuff - current fave Philz Julie's Ultimate. I haven't used an automatic drip in many years. Once I ditched the drip, I first used French press, then moka pot (loved the stainless, larger ones), then Aeropress for the last several years. I decided to get a new drip maker for when guests visit, since the Aeropress is not conducive to coffee for more than one person.
When seeking a new drip machine, I wanted a thermal carafe rather than a heated plate/glass carafe. I also was hoping for a cone rather than flat bottomed filter basket. Ability to program was another thing on the list. Last, of course, was decent reviews that the thing worked well. All of these features can cost quite a bit, but since I didn't envision using it often, I really didn't want to spend much. Enter this coffee maker, ticking all of the boxes and under $50!! I thought it was well worth a shot - even if it made decent...

sallyjaned: Good things first: I love the way this coffee maker looks, fits right in with my kitchen. The absolute worst thing is trying to get the lid on the pot!! You have to turn it to get it on. If you have arthritis in your hands this pot is not for you. It has a rubber gasket seal on the lid which makes putting on difficult. It has little half circles on the lid for finger placement, but they aren't much help. I don't have arthritis but had a VERY difficult time putting that lid on and taking off. It is a 24-hour clock, military time. For example, 1pm is 13:00, not a fan of that. It seemed to take longer to brew than any of my other makers. It does pour the coffee out of the pot at a slow rate which is fine when pouring 1 cup but to put the lid on and fill the maker with 10 cups of water took forever. The next time I filled the maker with the lid off and spilt water everywhere. All and all I would not recommend this coffee maker. I'm thinking of returning mine unless someone knows how to put that lid on easier. UPDATE: I slept in, got up 2 hours after coffee brewed, it was lukewarm. I had to microwave to get it hot. So, it DOESN'T keep coffee warm all day as others...

Disregardless:
Let's start with this -- ya buy something cheap and get surprised by better-than-expected performance. Ya don't really kick that item in the teeth because it isn't perfect and looks funny. That's this here coffee maker.
What's good: price; it works; coffee made won't scald yer mout; thermos carafe works pretty ok; reasonable footprint (not too big); passed the overnight hot tapwater test.
What's not so good: 24 hour clock; kinda cheapy materials.
Bringing it home: I have had and used me a buncha thermos's it my long, geezer existence and not one of them ever kept stuff truly hot for any length of time. It's just expected that once removed from a heat source the substance begins its steady march to cold. This here thermos ain't any better or worse than other coffee thermos's I have used -- some of them a LOT bigger and more expensive. Easily worth the dinero. Geezer approved

Jann Kamhoot Niewisch: I will order a glass carafe because the thermos carafe works too well! Sometimes I drink yesterday's coffee today and don't want to incubate any impurities in my coffee. I also don't want to cut the power every use, but I discovered if I cut the power, the hot plate won't coninue to heat. For home use, the microwave is good for reheating. For office use: get the stainless steel carafe!
