BOCTOP Digital Alarm Clock with LCD Display, 5 Brightness Levels, and Dual Alarm Setting

me: Temperature reading was about 4 degrees higher than a known accurate thermometer, so I returned it for an exchange clock, which now provides accurate temperature readings. With the USB cable inserted, the plug requires at least 3.25" of clearance if your outlet is behind furniture. It would be less of an issue if the USB port was on the side of the plug instead. So I used a Multi Plug Outlet Extender (cube) and plugged into a side outlet. The cord length is 54" and should be longer (6 feet) unless you're lucky enough to have an outlet that close. The 2 AAA batteries (not included) are not required, but highly recommended to eliminate frustration because they retain settings in a power outage or moving the clock to a different outlet. If that happens, the display goes black but everything returns when power is restored, and no adjustments are needed. The brand name doesn't appear anywhere on the box, or the clock, or the short user manual. This same clock appears to be sold under other brand names because it looks identical to others on Amazon for the same price. It's very easy to use, and the alarm is very loud at the highest volume setting, which I appreciate.

Retired FFTR: UPDATE: the seller sent me another clock that works. I love the big numbers and the fact that you are able to dim the the numbers. Works great.

I received my clock, plugged it in and nothing. The alarm button would beep but nothing on the screen. Installed 2 batteries and still nothing. I did a replacement for a new one, I’ll update my review if the new one works.

Cheetah-Kat: First of all, I'd like to say how disheartening it is that every piece of Electronic Equipment you pick up is "Made in China" (or another Asian Country). What is it with Electronics, that every Electronic item on the planet has to be made in Asia!?! Are we Americans seriously that Stupid that we cannot even make our own Alarm Clocks!?! I'm one who would be glad to pay a bit more for any item that is "Made in America!".

I did give this item 2 Stars, but only because the digital numbers are substantial in size, and they are also bright, therefore, this clock is easily seen from a distance. That, in a nut shell, is the entirety of the "good" part of this review, because every other part about this clock is subpar and very cheaply made junk!

It's extremely flimsy made, with paper-thin like plastic. Just the amount of pressure needed to squeeze it to handle it and/or pick it up, flexes the whole back side of it. To say it is cheaply made, is definitely an understatement!

The Temperature feature, with your optional choice of Fahrenheit or Celsius, is somewhat of an unusual feature on an Alarm Clock, but none the less, a very nice added feature. However, it can only...

Rob: Works as advertised. I use it only as a main clock in my living room. Have not tried the alarm or other features. Dimming works fine. Does not appear to drift w.r.t to time (i.e.: keeps time accurately).
The only "hick" is that the temperature gauge rounds down; at lease in Celsius. That is to say, if the temperature is 23.2 or 23.9, it will show 23. How do I know this? I placed an independent digital thermometer next to the clock and looked at each reading.

Kim: It has some great features that I was looking for in an alarm clock: red display(red light doesn’t disturb sleep), dimmable, easy to use without a manual, has a charging port and I really like that it displays the time that the alarm is set for or says “off” if it’s not set. The temperature feature is kind of a neat bonus but that wasn’t important to me. It’s okay but not super accurate.
Unfortunately there are some major negatives:
- it’s very flimsy/lightweight cheap plastic and constantly gets knocked over, especially when unplugging my phone from the charger, or when my cat jumps on my nightstand.
- every time a button is pressed it makes a LOUD beep, very annoying when trying to stealthily turn off the alarm when I wake up before the alarm goes off to try not to wake up my husband.
-the dimmer doesn’t go totally dark. It’s pretty good, but if you’re wanting complete dark you have to cover it.
If they could make a higher quality, more substantial alarm clock and take away the beeping with every single press of a button it would be great.

Normand Thomas: I really like this little gem. Easy to set up, easy to use and easy to read. The brightness control suits me just fine and the alarm is just right to wake up without being jolted. The battery back up holds the time until plugged in again. Worth getting.

Functions:
The clock digits are 4cm tall and easily visible without glasses. Single alarm. One alarm tone. No radio. 9 minute non-adjustable snooze. No advanced functions. The brightness is controlled by a wheel fully adjustable from completely off to very bright. The volume is controlled by a similar wheel from quiet to loud. Clock be switched between 12hr AM/PM mode and 24hr mode. It has a thermometer display that can be toggled between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Installing 2 x AAA cells (not included) will keep the time and settings in the event of a power outage.

Physical:
Controls are simple and intuitive: two buttons on the top, three on the back, and two wheels on the side. The power comes from the wall outlet via a two prong AC adapter with a USB female connector rated for 1A output. The power cable is a 1.5m-long USB male to 5V barrel connector male. The adapter and cable require 10cm of clearance from the outlet. The unit has an additional USB female connector intended to charge an external device such as a smartphone, presumably at about 1A. King: I am very happy with this alarm clock it is easy to operate and has the basic features that I need . I like that I can turn the brightness level down at night so it doesn't keep me awake .The display is nice and large making it easy to see and the usb port for charging is perfect so I can charge my phone .

Will-Review4uWill-Review4u: The media could not be loaded.  This alarm clock was originally purchased for my bedroom but has since migrated to my office based on it’s cool tech factor.
The clock is powered by a usb cord using a round 5 volt DC power jack that plugs into the back of the clock but the other end is the standard male type A plug like 99 percent of the usb cords. An plug in adapter with female usb type A port can be used to power the clock. I ended up using the usb multi port power hub that I had on my desk.
The digits and display symbols are large and bright blue which matches my keyboard and desk decorative lighting under the countertop.
The white bell icon on the top of the clock turns the alarm on and displays the alarm time or displays OFF when disabled.
I found that I can test the volume of the alarm bu using the bell button. The volume knob is on the lower right side of the clock, rotate the dial down and press the bell to hear the lowest sound, then rotate the knob up all the way to hear the loudest setting.
Brightness dial is above the volume knob to dim or brighten the display. Rotating this dial all the way down turns the clock display completely dark.
