Coulson prather: I truly enjoyed reading this book. I myself and many others could take many recommendations from it. Throughout reading the book I have realized many things that I do could be done in a more respectful and caring way. I loved the examples the book gave as well as the stories. The stories may not relate to my life exactly as the experiences in the book but it is very broad in the way of using the techniques for any situation. I have and will continue to keep molding myself in my work and everyday life with techniques given. Even if you are not trying to sell something or yourself this book will genuinely help shape you into a better person.

Brandon Stiffler: There's not really much actual substance in this book. If we are defining "substance" as a thing that you can take and go replicate in your own life.

The author uses anecdotes, most of which are probably, in order to get his points across. But most of these examples cannot be replicated. They are very specific to the author's own life, situation, career, environment, etc.

I would not recommend this book, I'd recommend looking at more objective-based persuasion and strategy books that actually use data, and more thoughtful studies that utilize different types of persuasion, etc., and how you can actually implement that into your daily life. Not just "oh hey, I did the 3 p's in this very specific scenario and it happened to work out for me, you try it!"

Crussell83: The key theme running throught this book is that in order to be successful at persuading others to help you reach your desired goal, you need to to show understanding and be willing to see things from their perspective. Now that's a slightly oversimplified take, but the truth of the book is just that. Bob takes the reader through a wide variety of scenarios that you and I can (and do) come across regularly in real life and shows us which technique fits to get the best result for both parties. As with all good negotiation, the right outcome is win/win - and this is what Bob is heading for.

If you remember just one thing, make sure it's the Three P's - Politeness, Patience and Persistence.

However, there are also some occasions where win/win isn't an option, so he let's you know how to make sure you come out on top whilst allowing the inheritance party to save face at the least, if not "win" per se. There are a decent number of proven psychological tactics at play here, backed up with sources, about how and why these methods work.

Without spilling the secrets here there are a few easy to remember lines that can get out out of trouble if you find yourself stuck...

Natasya: Bob you are fabulous! Thank you so much for your books. I absolutely loved this one too! This book is filled with so much useful advice not just in how to persuade others but in how to become a trully fabulous person through kindness, respect, and compassion for others. This should be taught in schools. This book is brilliant I will be re reading it and instilling all the lessons and advice into my being. Thank you once again for a beautifully heart centred book. Just a little side note, there are a few typos and missed words here and there that the edirors might want to spruce up. I have the kindle version. But other than that the book is a gold mine of goodness and other book referals. I have alot of reading to do now 😊.

Juanote: El libro no trata de persuasión sino de manipulación. La frontera puede ser muy sutil, y el propio autor trata de justificar todas sus técnicas diciendo que si uno consigue sus objetivos y persona "manipulada" está satisfecha, en realidad se trata de un win-win y por lo tanto ambos ganan.
Yo no puedo estar de acuerdo con ésto, y por lo tanto no considero a este libro un manual de persuasión sino de manipulación. Orientada principalmente a la venta.
Asumida esta premisa, el libro es magnífico, y sobre todo muy generoso. Generoso porque no se trata de uno de esos libros que cuentan un puñado de ideas y lo ilustran con miles de ejemplos: el libro de Bob Burg es un auténtico compendio de técnicas de manipulación, expuestas muy claramente, con ejemplos y referencias a muchos otros libros (de los que en realidad roba las ideas). Como un mago de muestra la trastienda de sus trucos.
La idea de fondo del libro es: "consigue que los demás quieran hacer lo que tú deseas". La forma de conseguirlo es siendo agradable, y complaciendo al ego de la otra persona. A partir de esta premisa, el auutor desarrolla todas las técnicas.
Bob Burg es sin duda un caradura, pero hay...
