Abby: My cat is 12.6 lbs and needs to lose weight (recommended 10 lbs). The vet recommended wet food to keep her full while also being calorie conscious. 86 calories a can makes this a healthy and fairly cost effective choice. However, the quality doesn’t seem great. After a week my cat didn’t like the taste and I had to sprinkle a crushed up treat on top to get her to eat it. 6 months later and she thankfully hasn’t gained weight, but she is the exact same at 12.6 lbs with no cheating on the diet. I switched to Hills Science Diet which is 64 calories a can and my cat prefers the taste significantly more, but it is not as cost effective. If your cat isn’t too over weight and enjoys the taste then this is a great option!
