Joseph Sheffield: When I bought this saw in 2018 I figured it to be something that would last a few months and crap out. BOY, was I wrong. This little saw has served me wonderfully for 5 years and is still going like new. It has honestly been run over by the front wheel of my John Deere tractor resulting in a minor crack on the battery slide. No ill effects on its operation. It's been thru Florida vines, trees up to 8" diameter and all sorts of saplings and underbrush. It has literally taken a licking and kept on ticking. If it quits today, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one just like it.

Good Sabum: Well I bought this item for a few different reasons. I own six (6) other B n D tools that are battery driven. So no problem running out of battery power. I am thrilled with how this small but mighty chainsaw works. Cut 4 branches yesterday that were all about 7-8” thick. Cut them in less than a minute each. Also cut several smaller branches too and the battery has power left.
Had a corded chainsaw and rather, oops that is wrong, am totally unhappy with is. I gave that one away.

Eric A.: I bought this for camping trips to the family property. It works great and was able to buck and limb up wood for the camp fire. It doesn't have the umph that a gasoline chain saw has but it is handy for small cutting projects. It doesn't have as break on it so be careful! The bar oil has to be hand primed every other cut as well, but it's an easy couple pushes on the oil primer button. I do recommend purchasing the larger battery along with this so you get longer cutting sessions.

Nodrog RebregNodrog Rebreg: My small Poulon Woodshark 10 inch chainsaw finally died, so I thought I'd try this electric one (I have two batteries already). It arrived in good shape, well packaged and unused, so I filled it with oil, clicked in a battery, and went to work.
PROS: Light, easy to handle, quick and simple. Bright orange makes it easy to spot in the woods. Quiet enough so ear protection isn't an issue, although I use ear protection anyway. Cuts through a 5 inch tree in about 45 seconds with a fresh battery. No pull start or idling issues, no fuel mix or smoke, just squeeze the trigger and go. Chain tightener is simple and easy to use compared to the gas versions. Doesn't get hot so no real worries about starting a fire in the brush.
CONS: Have to manually oil the chain via the primer bulb at the top, so chain can run dry if not careful. Batteries (4 years old) lasted about 30 minutes of cutting each (may need new ones). Lots of plastic so I don't expect real long life. Once the batteries die I am done for the day (no simple refuel and go) so I now suffer Forest Range Anxiety. The saw plugs easily on vines, twigs, small material and doesn't have the power to clear itself like a gas saw, so...

ShervinShervin: I bought to cut 2-3 trees beside my house wall. Worked very well. Should not use for anything less than 2cm diameter because it jumps. Should use on thicker one. I had 2 other B&D products with battery and this is third. I did all with one battery. Good balance on hand. Easy to use. This was my first time and done easily and earlier than expected.

Taylor ShinTaylor Shin: Purchased it since we already have the Pole Saw from the same manufacturer and batteries. The batteries of course fit. But the chain speed seems to be a bit slow. Didn't try with 'thick' trunks yet. But the saw bounce off a lot on branches... which means the chain speed is a bit slow. This is perhaps my battery is too old, more than 5 years old and haven't properly maintained. I'll try the saw with newer, higher capacity battery.

Pros:
1. Easy to maintain. No need to bring any additional tool to adjust and maintain the chain.
2. Center of gravity with regular (3Ah) battery is good. Not sure for high capacity (~6Ah) or more.
3. Safety button is quite intuitive even for small hands!
4. 10" seems to be short.. but quite enough for household use. In fact, I'm thinking about changing the bar/chain with 8" or shorter since all the logs I have are 6" diameter or less.
5. The chain bar fixture plate is metallic!!

Cons:
1. The lubrication oil needs to be fed to the guide bar manually. You have to not to forget to push the oil cap.
2. Motor is not brushless. This is 2023...
3. No motor stopper. The chain moves a little bit with inertia(?) even the...

Felipe Medeiros: This is a good machine, well built, and good power. The batteries run out really fast, around 10 minutes or less....that's the real issue. At the end, it was a good fit for me, but the DIY project I'd do was "cancelled" so not a lot of use for me anymore. But I'd recommend for anyone that would use it to trim trees, and do small jobs....it works pretty good.

Kamohomoho: I've been using the saw regularly for over six months. Mostly to cut trees, both small and large as I clear land in the rain forest. The saw is reliable, seems relatively sturdy given the price, and is light, powerful for its size, and relatively quiet. I'd buy another one.

Revision: 12/2015 Spare parts other than the bar and chain are not easy to get. I blew the rubber oil button. It took me quite some time to find one, and when I did it cost me 5 times more in freight and handling.than the part itself. I have a multi-tool that uses the same batteries so extra batteries are an investment, not a cost.

I've been caught in some deluges and the saw seems to take it in stride. I try to keep it under cover, but it's nice to know it can handle unavoidable wet weather.

That said, the battery life for larger jobs is short. I have four batteries, 2 regular and 2 extended. I go through those regularly, depending on the size and wetness of the logs I'm cutting. I've cut up to a 15+ inch diameter hardwood log. The hand oiler is the weakest aspect of the saw. It leaks from the hole in the reservoir cap, and it just leaks from the lube point as well. It can get messy, and I...
