Christine Pinto: I do really like this vacuum. It suction is very powerful and it works on all types of floors. The pull off top is easy to walk it downstairs and vacuum the stairs. I have a husky and a black lab/husky so in the spring and fall there is tons of fur. This vacuum picks up dog hair really well. The one thing I do not like about this vacuum is the reachable arm is not long enough and the lock doesn't lock the greatest. I would say in the end it is worth it's value. I do recommend

Georgia Cunningham: Pros- The suction power is awesome. Really cleans. Love the long cord, but would love a self winding cord better. Love that it lifts off, but will discuss the Cons later. It easy to empty the dust canister and clean. I like the suction adjuster for carpet and floors. Like the floor light and the way the vacuum maneuvers.

Cons- This vacuum is heavy; have to hold the cord constantly while vacuuming, because it won't stay on the hook. Very annoying. Will try to rig something up. The lift off is great but don't know how long the hose will last, and It"s kind of awkward to use. The tightening mechanism on the extender constantly needs re-tightening (again annoying). Need to get a hose extender as it won't reach high areas. What extender would be recommended? I hope this vacuum will have a long life.

Amazon Customer: Suction is great. Super easy to clean. I love the febreeze filter too. The only negative thing I will say is that the maneuverability of the hose is a bit awkward - especially if you are using the turbo head. It could be great if it tilted at the end but it doesn't so you have to bend down and be virtually horizontal with the ground if you wish to vacuum the couch or your dog's bed. Not very comfortable. However, that is a minor detail that is easily overlooked by all the other features of this vacuum. Also...don't beat yourself up if you have to read the instructions for how to put the vacuum together! It has clearly been a long time since I bought a new one and they have gotten a lot more complicated in comparison to just plugging them in straight out of the box!

Consumer View Point: We needed a vacuum to retire our aging Eureka AS1104 because of discontinued replacement parts and modern technology. We could not find a Eureka model that matched or exceeded its specifications and performance, and matched or exceeded its cleaning attachments and performance. The Bissell 20874 is the right replacement for the Eureka AS1104. The Bissell 20874 does not have as much suction power as the Eureka AS1104; we have learned from experience that too much suction power is overkill.

We are more interested in edge to edge cleaning technology along with the comparable cleaning attachments with an extended hose with handle and Lift-Off technology. The On-Off button for the brush roll and the suction adjustment knob is more than a convenience, they are safety features.
Will it clean when used improperly; absolutely not. Will it get the job is done when used properly; it absolutely will. We put it to work in the whole house; it takes desire, instructions and experience to properly operate lightweight cleaning technology. A.B: I am very disappointed because i paid too much money for a vacuum that is nothing as described. Very very loud, shuts off when goes sideways, suction power is very low and also it is such a heavy vacuum. Wish i could return it but i threw the box away.

Andrea J. Houlihan: Seriously a treasure! I have two Chow Chows with long, coarse hair that was the destroyer of all previous vacuums. I reverted to using a shop vac for years until, well, I got older and didn't want to vacuum on my hands and knees anymore. Pet parents: this vacuum's roller does NOT get tangled with hair... it works, it's life changing!! No bending over every 2 minutes to cut through and peel hair from the roller, and forget those trolls who claim it's so easy to remove the roller and cut through hair... they have never been owned by a Chow Chow!! The suction is fantastic, in fact, I didn't ever realize how little I was actually picking up with my shop vac. The canister is a bit small, but I don't even care, because it's a celebration in our house each time I dump that filth into the trash. Vacuum maneuvers nicely around everything, and fits a good way under my couch. I don't have an enormous house, so it's rather nice that the cord is long enough that I can plug it into the middle room's outlet and reach every corner without moving to another outlet... it's the little things! Jonathan MasonJonathan Mason: Overall a great vacume! I agree with many, it's decently heavy but manageable (and I'm not super big/strong). I was impressed how good it took the clumps of hair off the carpet and cat scratchers (I have two dogs and two cats all long hair). Cleans up hardwood pretty decent as well, all the little crumbs from kiddos and hairs. The tools are great, didn't find I was wishing for more. Would defentily recommend for those who have any pets. Love the swivle factor when vacuming, makes it way easier! So easy to empty and keep going. Tanks a little small, but it's so fast to empty it doesn't matter.

MDias: This is exactly what someone with a pet that sheds a lot (or a partner with long hair....) needs! Now, I'm comparing this vacuum over the last Hoover I had and I must say it's substantially better. Firstly, there is SOME hair that does get tangled to the brush but it's not nearly as much as my old vacuum did. I can easily pull out the long strands of hair and just siphon it up right after use. No more vacuum surgeries required with scissors, knives, and screw drivers. Secondly, it feels like it's build extremely well. Some people complain that it's a bit heavy but I enjoy that feeling. I know that it won't just come a part as soon as you accidentally knock a wall or board. The tools that come with it work well and I love the lift off functionality. The mobility of this vacuum is also superb. All in all, with the discounted price I bought this at, I would say this is the best vacuum I've ever owned thus far (and I've had a Dyson before too...)

William McDannell: After four months of extreme frustration with a Shark Navigator we began searching for a vacuum that would work in our household - two seniors, two Shelties and a Golden Retriever. We came across this Bissel and we believe our problem has actually been solved. The design of the vacuum makes perfect mechanical sense: if you want to vacuum up long hair, make the circumference of the roller longer than the hair you want to pick up. That way, the hair cannot wrap itself completely around the roller and will eventually be knocked off the brushes by suction and other incoming debris. And behold, it actually does work! The very first task after removing it from the box and easy assembly was to vacuum the living room rug. A few minutes later we had a clean rug, a canister full of dirt and dog hair - and not one single hair wrapped around the roller - hooray! With the Shark, I would have had to stop and literally cut the hair off the roller at least once and probably twice. The suction is great and it's nice to have lights.
