Susan Fawcett: There are some minuses to go with the many plusses with this vacuum. I owned an older version of this vac and loved it. It eventually wore out and I was pleased to find a newer model on Amazon. I have several cats in the house, and it sucks up hair like a champ. It does a great job vacuuming the carpets. But whoever designed this vac apparently never used it. The foot petal for on/off and to release the vac from upright used to be on opposite sides of the cannister. Now they moved the on/off switch to directly below the cannister, where the power cord comes out of the machine. This is a pretty poor design. Your foot gets into the cord trying to turn the machine off and on, which is very aggravating. Also, while the swivel head is a good thing, sometimes it swivels when you don't want it too, also aggravating.

Lonny S.: Only used a couple of times so far but I went over rooms I had 1 day prior vacuumed with my old vacuum, the canister was full in a very short time. Everything feels pretty solid and punched well over it's weight class IMO.

Amazon Customer: I bought this to replace my BISSELL 24899 Cleanview Rewind Pet Deluxe Upright Vacuum Cleaner that died recently. I have 3 cats, and that vacuum was the love of my life. Unfortunately I think they discontinued that model so this one looked like a close substitute. And it is, truly - it's a beast, just like its predecessor. BISSELL pet vacuums can magically pull up a canister full of junk when you thought your carpet looked clean! Their suction power is amazing.

But...I hate the swivel. I hope after spending this $$$ that I'll get used to it, but I feel like the swivel is a downgrade. My wrist has to work so much more to maneuver the vacuum and stabilize it. If the vacuum were stable to begin with, my arm would not have to work so much! It's really awkward and I wish I fully understood what the swivel part meant, because I would have looked for a model that didn't have this feature. It feels like a lot of work now.

Angela: We got this to replace a 16 year old Dyson that I thought was doing fine until we got a very fuzzy and long-haired border collie mix who sheds a ton. We'd have to go over the carpet with a rubber bristled broom/brush to get the fur up before vacuuming, because it just wasn't touching it otherwise, plus the amount of hair (from the dog and me) that got stuck on the brush meant that I was constantly having to clean that too.
We got this one and I put it together, then ran the old vacuum over the carpet one more time, before trying the new one. Even though the carpet looked fairly clean, it sucked up SO MUCH STUFF. I was impressed, and grossed out. I dumped it and vacuumed again, same thing. Even when I could no longer see dog hair on the carpet at all, it was still sucking some up.
This vacuum doesn't feel as substantial or as sturdy as the old Dyson (which was at least 3x the price, maybe 4x, so that's to be expected.), but I have zero complaints. It works 100x better. I thought I was going to have to spend a ton to get a vacuum that would work well with our dog, who sheds like crazy, so I'm thrilled that this relatively inexpensive one works so well.

Rebecca: My household includes two dogs that shed like crazy, one cat, and three women who also shed. Our previous vacuum was very old when we got it and also not in that great of condition. Switching to this has been a breath of fresh air. Personally, I don't think it's too loud or too heavy. I'm afab and not particularly strong and it is easy for me to carry, but I have no physical disabilities. As for the noise, I have sensory issues particularly with noise and this doesn't bother me at all. It's quieter than our old one (again, the old one was old and in bad shape) and works a thousand times better. Our living room carpet was a different color due to the dirt, dust, and pet hair. It didn't take me long at all to clean it. Our carpet is finally the right color now!

Shaun Peterson: Have only used a couple times. On carpet that has previously housed many pets. I had thought my previous vacuum a really old Dyson was doing a decent job, but it crapped out and the price and reviews were right for this pet bissell. I couldn’t believe what it pulled out of my carpet. Was happy and grossed out simultaneously. Also love the side bristles for and non carpet areas, it’s grabs all that tucked in the edges debris. Hope it holds up for a longer time. As I’m happy so far.

Z: Okay. If you think your carpet LOOKS clean? Guess again. I've dubbed this vacuum cleaner (drumroll) 'The Eye Opener'! LLLOOOLLL! Oh! Why is that, you ask? Because the things showed me just HOW FILTHY my carpet was! I was in disbelief! All these years, I was using an older vacuum cleaner, but it ain't pick up $%#@!!! I was totally shocked at how much filth this thing dug out of my carpet and rugs... and all the while, I was inhaling dust and germs before I made the purchase. Let me make this clear... I am NOT an animal, and I don't have animal hairs/fur in my house... but it has done a bang-up job in this house.

Gripe... my only gripe... I don't know about the swiveling function. I don't really need it... telling me where to go. I'm a natural leader, okay? Thanks, but no thanks. It'll take some getting used to. The cost was up there, but not as much as others that are far-less capable. I assume not having to pay for (fake) bags anymore will make up for the extra funds I paid, anyway.

It's easy to assemble, lightweight, not too wide, and easily stowed away in a corner somewhere, ready to work again. I gotta say... I'm still not over how much dust and junk this thing...

loida eunice segura diaz: Me gusta mucho la potencia para quitar los pelos de las telas, cumple lo que promete sin embargo la herramienta para los sofás es muy delicada, desde el primer uso varios dientillos salieron volando y actualmente solo le quedan 2, también me gustó que el cable es largo y puedes llegar a más lugares de la casa pero lo tienes que ir sujetando porque estorba al momento de aspirar, pero apesar de esos inconvenientes es muy buena aspiradora, la mejor que he comprado hasta ahora pensada para mascotas.

Z3PHIR: My father recently asked me to pick out a new vacuum and requested that it had to have good suction for long cat hair. After researching many vacuums in this class, I liked the sound of this one so I ordered it. While waiting for delivery, I watched a video of someone complaining about this unit catching fire and the motor burning out and of course, this freaked me out. I started to look for a different make and model only to find out someone always complains about this exact problem on practically every vacuum cleaner. I'm not saying these people are wrong or mistaken and I will watch the belt closely every couple of weeks, plus I showed my father what to watch for. I see the concern as there is a very tight space where you can see the belt over the brush and debris can easily get caught in this tiny space. However, if you actually read the manual thoroughly, it tells you to keep an eye on this and how to remove a few screws to open it up. In my opinion, they should have made this part much more accessible and not require a screwdriver. I wanted to get this little rant out there so people are aware and make a better decision because these days you never know what reviews are...
