Bissell 22543 Clean View Swivel Rewind Pet Vacuum & Carpet Cleaner for Deep Cleaning

Pickeringgal: This vacuum has amazing sucking power. We have 3 cats and I can't believe the amount of fur it picks up. It's also easy to move around and the accessories are great. My only complaint is that the cord retractor stopped working well after the first couple of months. It still retracts but only with a lot of jiggling. Not worth the hassle to get it fixed.

Nick DiTondo: First the overall. This vac is just great. It has a better suction process than the 3 shark vacuum cleaners I had previously. It is lighter than you think, and the turn radius is easy as well.

PROS
It is lighter than your average vac, I have a bad back and had NO ISSUES moving this thing up and down the stairs.
Suction is MUCH better than my previous vac.
Design was smart - all the tools can be placed in easy grab area's and do what it is they are supposed to do.
Self winding cord - a blessing. It works right and you do not have to feel like you are storing rope.
Hose is pretty long.
Works great on flat surfaces and you can dial in the height based on your rug pile level.

CONS
If you do not turn the dial for the height, you could burn a spot in your rug. The brush wheel keeps spinning even when upright. So basically, if you dial it in correctly --- you don't have to worry.
It is louder than my old vac, but it is doing a wayyyy better job. Suspect it is loud because of how strong the suction is.

Mom of 7: I’ve been buying commercial and expensive vacuums ever since my wonderful 20 year old hoover died. Hoover is now junk, wasted money on trying 2 of their commercial ones. Tried a couple others and my son found this right before i was about to buy another expensive one. He said it was suggested by amazon as best reviews or something. I told him it’s just a cheap vacuum won’t do us any good. Big house in the country, 8 kids, all kinds of animals in and out. Construction going on all the time. As i was reading the reviews for the other ones he kept trying to get me to try this one. So i said what could it hurt to give it a shot since it’s so cheap. I’m extremely impressed. The suction even works awesome on my thick wool rugs. It vacuums the hardwood floors without spitting stuff all over the place. I bought a second one for the second floor even. The retractable cord i figured would break. Even with all the kids using it, it is still working fine. The only problem i have is that the cord seems too short. It won’t reach across my bedroom. Ling lingLing ling: This vacuum works great and does the job better than any vacuum I have owned. Set up was very quick, easy to follow the instructions and took only 5 minutes. The only thing for me is, it is heavy to turn and maneuver. But it’s heavy for the durability power it has to clean the carpets. This vacuum picks up pet dander and messes from the wood floors easy unlike older vacuums I use to have. My family notices when the house is vacuumed. The carpets are not only clean but the air is clear too.

rockelle: This vacuum is as powerful as the Dyson pet hair vacuum that we had previously owned for 10 years. I would 10/10 recommend this vacuum to a friend. The only flaw is that the motorhead never stops moving even when you are using it hand held. If it lasts 3 years I got my money's worth IMO.

Michelle: I had read the many reviews almost all good but a few not so great. We needed a vacuum for the lake asap so I took a chance.

Wow, the amount of sand it pulled out of the carpet was shocking. This after the carpets were steam cleaned and vacuumed with our old machine. A family member commented that the room even smelled cleaner. The stair attachment worked well with no reduction in suction and spun well even on a thicker carpeted stair. It's a little bit heavier than our last vacuum but works so much better. I would have given it a 4.5 for maneuverability if possible, it's just a bit wider than some spots we need to reach so I find myself fussing around with getting it to those spots.

For the price this vacuum is terrific!

Bill: My Partner and I live in a carpeted two storey condominium with our three 10 year old felines. As someone who is severely allergic to cats, trying to find a vacuum that does the job has been rather difficult but after reading the reviews for this Vacuum we thought we'd give it a shot. This vacuum has a very strong suction to it , which combined with the triple bristle feature at the head of the vacuum does an amazing job at picking up everything from scattered cat litter and dried food to every single last hair on the floor. Its quite heavy if you have carpeted stairwells, however the additional attachments with the extension hose allow you to vacuum the stairs by hand for up to ten feet. Also great to use on hardwood floors with dofferent settings based on the surface type being vacuumed. The one design flaw I've noticed (which had me considering returning the device) is that the vent from the motor is so strong it actually blows the dust, dander and hair around before you get close enough to vacuum it up. This really defeats the purpose of a vacuum that was designed for pet owners and allergy sufferers, and for the listed asking price this may not be the wisest investment if...

Carolyn: I've used this vacuum about a dozen times so far. It replaced another Bissell that was about 10 years old. This one is much lighter and with the swivel head, it is much easier to maneuver. It also has a smaller footprint so it's easier to get into some tight spaces. The suction seems fine, about the same as my other Bissell. My carpet is old and it didn't work any magic, but I do find that I tend to vacuum more often because it is less of a chore. I originally hadn't wanted the automatic cord rewind, but now I find that I really like it. I also like the fact that it has a place near the top of the handle to hook the cord to keep it out of the way while you are vacuuming.

There are a few reasons I didn't give it five stars. It makes a high pitched whining noise that I find a little unpleasant. Also, where you remove the hose so you can use the attachments is so close to the back of the vacuum that it's hard to grip and sometimes I have a hard time getting it off. I wish the wand was longer. I saved the longer one from my old vacuum and it fits, so that helps.

The canister is much lighter than my old Bissell and it's easier to empty. All in all, it seems like a good...

Abigail Bray: This has been the best vacuum I have ever owned or operated.
Pros:
1. The wind up power cord makes this vacuum so easy to put away.
2. It's pretty easy to manage. It feels large enough to do a heavy duty job but light enough to easily move around. (dont have stairs in my house so not sure how easy it would be to maneuver up and down)
3. It's easy to clean out. I've had this for almost a year and just the other day finally took it apart and washed all the removable parts. This is the first vacuum I have ever owned that doesnt get hair and fur all wrapped up in the brush and need to be cleaned weekly. Even after almost a year and constantly checking the brush there was very little hair wrapped around the brush. This is by far the thing I love most about it!
The suction power is average.
Cons.
1. The hose is a bit short and makes it difficult to clean edges and corners without having the vacuum kinda in your way.
2. The power cord comes out from the right of the vacuum. Now this is only a problem for a right handed person. It just seems difficult to handle the vacuum with my right hand while the power cord is always crossing paths to my left hand trying to...
