Marie I: Surprised in a good way about the material. It is super smooth plastic. The rip a tiny bit easier then “normal” plastic poop bags. But I have a small chihuahua so not so worried about ripping. 😊 Could def consider buying them again.

Amazon Customer: I tried many bags that were advertised as "green" or "plant based" and they weren't. This bag seems to be really biodegradable as they say. Once I left a used bag on a stone wall and found it two weeks later, and it was just a mound, only the knot was left. The bag had seemingly dissolved, no plastic. I put these full into my pocket on trail walks, and they have never leaked or broken and they contain the smell. I can even untie a used bag and use it a second time if my dog goes again later. Very tough and they stretch some so they are easy to tie and untie (if you need to). I throw the used bags into my big brush and leaf pile to compost, i don't even put them in the trash. So glad I can do this for the planet. Highly recommend.

SBK: I bought these for keeping my compost bin on my counter clean and it’s perfect for that! I no longer need to wash out my bin I put coffee grounds and tea bags in, this liner keeps everything clean and then I tie it up and put it in my bigger bin in the garage. They are the perfect size for what I was looking for

Amazon Customer: My husband and I both hated these bags (and I'd ordered a lot) until I accidentally figured out how to open them. Discovered during a rain storm. You may be too young to remember people licking a finger to separate sheets of paper at the corner -- but that is what works to open these bags. Yes, it's not terribly hygenic. We'd tried everything -- rubbing the bag against itself with our hands, clawing at the top with fingernails, etc. Lightly moisten one or two fingers and rub them near the top of the bag on each side. Voila!
On the sticker: this may be changed since some of the discouraging reviews, as I've not had any problems with the sticker. Always peel the sticker off the top bag toward the bags under so that if it tears, it's just at the top of the first bag and doesn't put a hole in the first or second bag.

Kelly R: I’ve been using this brand for a couple months, usually 2 bags a day, and have yet to have one tear from use. I did have one tear when I was in a hurry and rough pulling on the perforation, but that’s only happened once; normally they separate easily and cleanly
I did see a couple of reviews mentioning they had big dogs and wanted larger bags, but these are a nice size bag for my 78 lb border collie/greyhound mix, large enough to hold two of his deposits and still have room to tie off the bag. To give you some perspective, he gets fed a high quality dog food (less input equals less output) three times a day, slightly under a cup each time.
I’ve been happy with the quality and convenience of these bags, and even though my city is not currently composting dog waste, I feel better spending a few extra cents, knowing I’m not adding that much extra plastic to the environment. 5 stars and I’ve put these on auto-subscribe.

Justin: Starting this off at 4 stars without even using them as the bags only sort of fit in the holder. Length-wise they fit but the diameter of the roll is larger than Earth Rated's standard bags. The diameter just barely fits in, so tight that the roll will not spin so you can't remove a bag when it's in the holder. Once you remove a bag or two, then the diameter fits and allows spinning and normal poop-bag-holder operation.
The page doesn't claim they fit in the holder, but the seller did answer yes to that question in the questions section. I will edit with picture when I insert the next roll (don't want to have to remove two bags from another roll, thus having 4 loose bags).
Edit 1 year later: these will rip at least 50% of the time when the temperature hits -10C. Don't bother using in the winter.

Elissa Katz: Easy to tear and open. Have tried a lot of compostable bags and by far these are my favs. Unfortunately they aren't available any longer. Hope they can start selling again.
