Bessport 2-Person Lightweight Backpacking Tent for Camping and Hiking

Kin C: For a long time I had been looking for a solo tent which should tick these boxes: light weight; of the right size; with good quality and design. I thought I would have to pay US$200 upward to have such qualities in such a tent. And I got these in the Bessport 1, for much less.

The tent weighs about 5 lbs out of the box. That seems heavy considering the weight of solo tents on the market these days. It is heavy for 'good' reasons: the included pegs were made of iron - they weigh 1 lb. On the other hand the tent is made of traditional PU coated polyester fabrics. These are heavier compared with, for example, sylnylon. I am not disapppointed by the fabrics, though. They are obviously more sturdy than sylnylon. This is obvious in the case of the tent floor. Having said all these I would say that the tent is well built with good quality.

In order to reduce weight many solo tents on the market skim on size. The Ferrino Nemisi solo tent I own is a typical example. It measures 70 cm (27.5") at the head end and 50 cm (19,6") at the foot end. I can barely roll when I sleep in there. My head nearly scratch the roof when I sit up as the maximum height of this tent is 90 cm...

PROCINCT: I bought this same sized tent in the light gray, and because it performed so well, I bought another one in OD.
I've seen all the reviews on this tent and am surprised that some buyers had bad experiences with it.
Some even complained about the design of the doors, which I happen to absolutely love.
This tent IS a 4 season tent.
* It's water proo
* It's light weight (4.9 ~ 5.2 lbs depending on the Tent Pegs you use, and yes, I weighed the entire tent in its bag on a digital medical scale made for humans)
* It's easy to set up/break down
* It's roomy overhead/head to foot/side to side.
* It has mesh pockets on all 4 corners + an overhead light, etc., hanger & stash bed
* It has guy points and excellent cordage for guy-lines + extra cordage.
* The poles are Aluminum Tubular with shock-cord connectors that take-down into 14" lengths for a compact roll-up.
I forgot to measure the width, but I'd guess they're ~ 8mm which I prefer for weight and compactness,
and definitely not 11mm.

I use a very light weight sil-poly tarp rated @ 4000 hydrostatic head 5' x 10' for my Footprint, but that is not
calculated in the weight described...

hector: El producto es bueno, acorde a lo descrito. Lo hemos usado en dos ocasiones: acampar en playa a 0msnm. Sin el rainfly todo bien sin problemas para 2 personas. La otra ocasión fue acampar a 3600 msnm en el parque del nevado de colima, temperaturas 0-5°C y lluvia casi toda la noche. Protegió bien de la lluvia (con rainfly puesto) y del viento, dos personas adentro, sin problemas (mido 1.86m) El único problema es que si presentó algo de condensación, muy menor (ligero sudor después de 6h) , que no comprometió la estancia. Considero que la condensación ocurrió por la respiración de las dos personas al interior, con una persona tal vez hubiera sido menor. Asegurar que haya espacio de venteo en rainfly - piso y vestíbulos para disminuir éste "problema". Bien por la doble salida y doble vestíbulo que es importante cuando lo usan dos personas. Veo que el nivel de protección del viento, estando bien estacada es adecuado. Yo no diría que es cuatro estaciones (tal vez si soporta escarcha exterior), yo diría que es 3.5 estaciones, no le doy 5estrellas debido a la ligera condensación, pero como he dicho, si se asegura venteo bajo el rainfly y se orienta adecuadamente...

OllieOllie: The media could not be loaded.  Bought to replace our other one - I was re-waterproofing (Used this one ALOT for over 3 years) & a cat ripped it by climbing on it! Our original older one came with light weight pegs and slightly better guy ropes but that's not an issue. One of the guy connection points on this one has not been fully sewn so I'm keeping an eye on that part. I hope we will get the same value from this one as we did our previous as our old one was perfect for the money, this tent stands up to condtions that others would not! Fairly light but sturdy & waterproof for sure.

I ❤️ my tent, 1 person, very spacious, could not find similar in Australia. My order from Amazon US arrived within x2 weeks. Love tent as it has high fabric( not mesh) walls on the inner tent, it has doors and vestibules both sides, air vents, pockets for storage and hook for hanging a light, high floor to ceiling height. Great! Only thing you need to replace is the tent pegs as the ones that come with the tent are heavy.: Great lightweight tent, high ceiling, tent pockets, hanging hook for light, x2 doors, x1 person very spacious, x2 side doors and vestibules. ❤️ the high inner tent fabric walls are great. Could not find a tent like this in Australia but my Amazon US delivery was delivered within x2 weeks.( I did get free postage)
Only critique is the heavy tent pegs but easy to replace. Great Buy!

Celeste TG: Excelente casa de campaña, me tuve que informar bastante antes de adquirir esta casa de campaña y es fabulosa, es muy fácil de armar y el tamaño es perfecto para dos personas.
Sin duda una casa de campaña que durará mucho tiempo.

L. D.: I like the light weight, overall size, and ease of set up with this tent. I purchased a 3 person tent, knowing I would bring a kid with me and I wanted room to put gear inside. A queen size mattress fits, but a full size gives some space. I am short, so the height was not an issue, I could sit on a small camp chair inside when there was rain. I would not think this tent is great for 3 people, unless all you did was sleep like a mummy. It was easy to set up. I liked the adjustable corner buckle clips that hold the rain-fly. The vent triangle did not provide a ton of ventilation when the rein-fly is on, but it did provide some, and the 2 doors do help. Suggestions for improvement include using a more sturdy zipper. The zipper was a HUGE disappointment. Flimsy. Second suggestion would be to use c-clips to attach the rain-fly to the tent poles. The current rain-fly setup uses little string ties that are awkward to tie because you have to reach underneath the fly. I ended up with a knot. Grrr. A c-clip would be easier. I did find some for purchase, and they are a simple fix, requiring only that I tie them on. Now I can just clip the rain-fly instead of trying to get underneath, between...
