Laggy: It makes decent cups of coffee. The thing we didn't like about it was the micro mesh filter was hard to clean. We had to flush it under running water a few times to get it to be fully clean.

OzReviewer: I have had this plunger for 6 months or so. We use it to infuse black and green tea. The filter blocks any tea leaves from flowing out (as expected). It also does a decent job keeping the pot warm due to the double lining. When it is full of hot water, you can still touch the outer housing. You can also place the pot without a mat to protect the timbre table.

Sometimes, I left the tea and leaves in the pot overnight, yet the inside does not appear to have been discoloured. It is little fiddlely to disassemble the plunger by unscrewing to clean, but overall, it has been a good product. I'm sure it will work equally well with coffee.

I recommend this product.

Okay this is for a purchase I made on April 12, 2018. I have reminded myself many times to just do it....

Just doing it,

When I recieved this brewer I was quite happy, really sharp looking. Then I picked it up, got a rattle from inside. Pull out plunger/filter. Pull out handbook. That's it.

Still rattles. It seems that at the moment of sealing the carafe together there was a small piece of stainless inside the carafes' walls so it was sealed inside.
...
It's a rattle. A very nice rattle but.
Initially I was quite upset, it was exactly what I wanted. Except it rattled.
Decided I wanted to use it now and see how it worked.

Well, 5 years 4 months later I'm telling all about it.
Has worked flawlessly for all that time.
The coolest thing though, how fabulous is it that my coffee maker has a chime!
I have come to love the greeting I get from a this little stainless pebble.
I think Bellemain should do like this on purpose to choose thier millionth customer?

Susie: This is the most durable French press I’ve ever bought. It keeps your coffee hot for a long time. However, the first time I put it in the dishwasher the red paint started chipping off. Doesn’t look great now, and have been exclusively hand washing ever since. I think if you keep washing it in the dishwasher all the paint will come off.

J.L.: This is the best coffee maker for the price. The treads on at both ends of the plunger stem were too loose on arrival. The knob would come of instead of the filter. This was easily tightened and fixed in place with tread locker glue. Great coffee pot, works perfectly and will never break in the dishwasher like the glass ones. Keeps coffee warm much longer too.

C J: I bought both the red and the stainless steel. Though smaller and more expensive the stainless steel one is way better made. The red one is well made and bigger but came with a bit scratch and dent. I worried the paint may fall off soon which will make it ugly so I return it. It doesn't keep coffee hot for long, about 20 minutes. It says double walled but is not as good as double walled coffee mugs or water bottles.

I live half the year in Lake Country, deep Up-northern Minnesota, and half the year on the beaches in Eastern Florida. Patiently enjoying the view with a hot cup of coffee is kinda my thing. The Bellemain French press has made this experience so much better.
When I received the press the packaging wasn't anything special; I was skeptical. Was I ever surprised when I opened the box and pulled the safely packed press out. It was well constructed, clean welds, and good weight for its size. I examined it closely for possible defects and I was only more impressed with the craftsmanship of this product. It doesn't really talk about it but it uses a double screen filter and comes with an extra set. They can be divided into individuals if you prefer the taste of single screen filtering. Personally, my family's French and I grew up with grounds in my cup and love it a bit less refined. I read the basic but thorough manual and put it in a file.

Jeffrey W. Bloom: We've had several French press coffee makers over the years. All of those were glass. The last one we purchased (Cafe du Chateau) from Amazon was obviously cheaply made, which was evident from the beginning. And, indeed, it began falling apart within weeks. When the glass broke for no apparent reason, we decided to go stainless steel. When the Bellemain French Press arrived about a week ago, it immediately felt like it was solidly built. The carafe is one solid piece with no seams, so unlike some all stainless presses we have read about, there is no possibility for water or coffee leaking in between the layers of stainless steel. The screen and plunger feel sturdy, unlike the others we have had.

It makes a great cup of coffee and the coffee stays reasonably warm for a couple of hours, which is much longer than the glass models. We also use finely ground coffee on occasion. Although there is a little slush at the end, as should be expected, no grounds come through.

Some other reviews say that the screen part cannot be removed. However, all that it takes the first time, is to use a pair of pliers to loosen the female end. After that there is no need to tighten it...
