Lady Di: The ear warmers are a bit on the thin and larger side. I would not consider them to be "ski-worthy" warmers, but are suitable for a colder winter or windy day. My ears are very sensitive and I need to keep them covered during the winter season of the Midwest which can get pretty harsh.
I lost my favorite ear warmers and had to order these from Amazon (thank God for Amazon!) because the stores had basically gotten rid of the winter accessories to make way for the upcoming spring season. I thought I had received a pretty good value because I received three warmer headbands.
I would recommend these warmers for a normal Midwestern winter's day - not a super-cold one.
