Bee: I ordered the size for the width. It was slightly large, but did not keep coming off my kid. Great durability. It looks like I'm going to get another year, maybe 2, out of it, which is AMAZING. The skirt hits at mid thigh. She loves it and calls it the mermaid suit. At time of purchase. 47lbs 38"
Update: going strong 2.5 years later. Fit her until 55lbs and 43" I think... now she's grown out of it.
