Louis Bechard: Drop it on the floor from the shipping box and it works.
Checked calibration with 16 kg of water and it shows 16 kg!

Stephan Van HeerdenStephan Van Heerden: Summary - This is a solid scale to start out for losing weight or even just basic use, it's low cost and robust design makes it a great scale! I bought it for the price and have been pleasantly surprised at both its accuracy and its design. The scale is very sleek (L-30cm W-30cm H-2.5cm) and light weight, it fits easily under a couch, or coffee table, or bathroom counter. Make sure to calibrate it before use (we recalibrate on mondays to make sure it's as accurate as possible, you don't need to.)

Personal Rating - 9.5/10 (More than 4 stars but less than 5)
Features - Weight History, Bright Blue Back light, Large Bold Numbers.

Con's
Calibration User error *(Honestly this has nothing to do with the scale and is on me, but the scale needs to be calibrated to be super accurate and I did not take the time to read the instructions *Partly because it was under the scale in the box ** and partly because I'm a man and you know the stereotype about us reading instructions)

vanessa: I purchased this scale as we have a family member in the house that is currently trying to lose weight and weighs over 300lbs. We already had a scale in the house but like many, the maximum weight capacity did not reach 300lbs.

The scale arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Shipping was extremely quick.

To date (now January 2020) we have been using the scale without any issues. It is very accurate, and love how it keeps the last weight stored and shows it when you first turn the scale on (great feature especially if you forgot to write down your last weight).

I do recommend that any time you move the scale to “reset it” by standing on it for a second to turn it on. Then step off the scale until the screen goes blank and then you are ready to accurately weigh yourself.

I definitely recommend this scale and think it is a great buy at a great price.

Daninfrance: Very nice set of scales that look good and are unobtrusive on the bathroom floor. I like the feature of having the weight displayed in KG or Lbs or Stones & lbs. A very bright and easy to read display. I think the battery use is quite heavy but am not sure how long the originals were in the machine before it came from stock and the 2nd set I used may have had a couple of used ones in there, so I'm waiting to see how long this current all new set will last. Be aware these scales will scare you as they are obviously very accurate and tell the truth, maybe on future models they could put an additional choice of weight options and add a " tell a lie" weight for those feeling down days.

Colin: I use the scales on a carpet, but set on a piece of old wooden veneered chipboard after doing the initial calibration on a paving slab outside my back door. I find that standing square on the scales, ignoring the rapidly changing numbers and waiting for the final result to start flashing before stepping off gives very consistent, repeatable results. I can do this many times in a row and get exactly the same answer, though I'm confident enough to rarely bother any more. If I do repeat, I always wait for the display to switch off completely each time. Once in a blue moon I repeat the calibration after weighing myself, but so far, another weighing after calibration has always given me the same result as before.

My old electronic scales (different manufacturer, similar price) would often give variable results by up to a couple of pounds each session, so I'm delighted with the BalanceFrom. The first few days, I did get variable results, but realised I was rocking back on my heels slightly. I wouldn't say the scales are especially sensitive, but I can be a little unsteady on my feet sometimes and once I realised what was happening, I was soon able to train myself to plant my feet...

Lotus54: I had a Health-O-Meter for years that never worked right. I tolerated frequent errors; randomly displaying "E" and then shutting off, shutting itself off before displaying my weight, displaying a low battery signal with brand new batteries, etc. Then it finally just died for no apparent reason and I was glad for the excuse to finally replace the stupid thing. But I've found that scales and thermometers are two items that you really need to get in quality form or else they can be inconsistent and inaccurate. So I looked around Amazon at a lot of different models and read a ton of reviews. I finally chose this model and bought it purely on the high reviewer rating and the fairly consistent positive reviews.

I made sure to read the instructions before even putting the batteries in this after reading some other reviews about improper calibration. For the very first use out of the box you need to step on it briefly but get off BEFORE it displays your weight so that it displays 0.00. Then you get on it again and it displays your weight plus the weight of the scale, so don't panic when you think you've gained 5 pounds. Then you get on again and it should display your actual...

John Thorne: My previous scale was mechanical and I disliked it for several reasons. The major problem with it was that, early on, I learned how to game it — if I leaned slightly forward my weight went down, if I leaned slightly backwards it went up. Also, every time I got on it my weight was different — not terribly different, but enough so that I would take three or four readings and choose the one I liked best. Also, the dial was hard to read when I was standing up, and when I bent down so I could read it the weight shifted again. You will have to explain to me why I kept that scale for two decades. My best guess is that I kept promising myself that one of these days I would spend hundreds of dollars on a balance scale like the one if my doctor's office. It turned out I always had a better use for those C-notes. I had tried digital bathroom scales before I purchased this one, always in other people's bathrooms, and I was never persuaded they were more accurate. However, the time has arrived in my life when I need to be serious about my weight and while I know this doesn't necessarily follow, I decided it was imperative that I get a new, a decent, a trustworthy scale. Frankly, it was the...
