ICFY95: The Bakflip G2 was installed in a Nissan Frontier crew can with cargo rails. It fits well and was only about 20 minutes to install. So far it works very well and has survived a couple of rainstorms with no leaking (though the Nissan rear gate itself can leak. Price seemed a bit high, but if it lasts I will be a happy and repeat customer.

Kindle Customer: I have been looking for a truck bed cover for several weeks and had even discussed it with the truck dealer where I purchased the vehicle. They installed a Leer product, but I did some research on the company and the product and neither got great reviews. I did look at other options, however watching the BAK video on the Amazon site and the 4 / 5 star reviews did help me decide. I installed the product myself, took my time (so it would turn out right!) and it was very easy (about 1-1/2 to 2 hours). It looks great and works great.

matt: My experience with the Bakflip MX4 cover did not start out well. The rivets which hold the flip-up support rod bracket on one of the rails where not properly fastened, so the bracket became twisted and did not fit or function as designed. This was a manufacturing defect. I notified the seller, RKSFulfillment, and they responded promptly that they would contact the factory to detemine the best course of action. We went back and forth for several days, and in the end I recieved a set of replacement rails today, exactly one week from when I contacted them about the problem. I give RKSFulfillment a lot of credit for how they handled the situation. Communication was prompt, courteous, and professional. Stuff happens, but it's how a company handles those situations that matters. Based on my experience, I would buy from RKS again.

On to the cover itself. I spent about an hour or so installing it, and the end result is pretty good, but not great. My truck is a 2019 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. Installation was not terribly difficult, and the cover looks sharp and functions well. Keep in mind I just installed it today, so we'll see how well it holds up with use over time. My complaint is...

MCMC: Best aftermarket accessory I have ever purchased. I hate how much this thing cost but it was well worth it. Installation was extremely easy, I now have secure bed storage, it looks awesome, keeps my stuff dry (for the most part), and I have seen a slight increase in fuel economy (1 mpg?).
I did not want to route the drain tubes down to those plastic knockouts at the front of the bed because I knew they would waste space and get damaged when I carry cargo up there. I drilled appropriate size holes in the corners of the bed, painted the bare metal, and installed rubber grommets for the drain tubes to pass through. Pictures attached.
In a real downpour quite a bit of water gets past the seals and in around the edges of the tailgate but i think you just have to remember -- it is still a truck bed, not a car trunk. Other attached pictures show what it looked like inside after a flash flood warning rainfall.
Totally satisfied with the purchase, only wish I had bought it sooner.

Todd B.: Just installed the BakFlip G2 cover on my 2010 Nissan Frontier. The installation was fairly straightforward. It took me about 40 minutes, and only required a 15mm socket and ratchet to tighten the clamps. No other tools were needed. The installation instructions are basically a pamphlet with tiny pictures. They could be a lot better. The first step says "Attach the rails to your truck using the provided clamps." Having never installed one, I had to figure out which direction the rails go, where the clamps should be placed, etc. by trial and error. Probably installing another one of these would take me 15 minutes or less to do. For anyone interested, the end of the rail with the silver bracket needs to be near the cabin of the truck.

If you have a Nissan Frontier with the Utili-track system, the clamps will fit between the track and the top of the bed if you sneak them in at the end of the rail and slide them down to the correct position. Once the rails are installed, you won't be able to slide your bed extender past the clamps, so it's pretty much stuck where it is. This isn't too bad, since you can still use the bed extender in the position where it fits on the tailgate,...
