mbon: I bought these based on previous brand experience. The main cookie is great, well made & package protected from damage. But the Cherry in the description is red Currant filling that tastes like just that, no cherry flavor whatsoever. There's cherry on the ingredient list, but not an iota of cherry flavor, perhaps to enhance the color? To those that understand very basic food tastes it's "Red" which as you know is a meta flavor that relies on imagination to make it seem strawberry, cherry, or in this case pure red currant. For Americans unsure of red current, it's essentially like a raisin but made from a plum, understanding that cherries evolved from plums. There are a couple of genuine cherry flavors: red tart aka pie cherries and sweet cherry which by species from black tart to very light like Ranier with a delicate, much lighter taste than tart or black. You can buy fresh cherries in season for $4 to $5 per pound or about $0.30 per ounce. At $2.00 per ounce these cookies are a high priced red currant flavored no thank you.
