Cathee: In this awful election year with all of the negative ads everywhere I found this book to be very helpful to explain the facts of the election process to my 7 year old. I even learned a few things myself from the Uncle Murray sections, which I'm not sure I should admit, but hey.

Anonymous Shopper: Bought this book for my six year old after he saw one of his friends at school reading it. He didn't start reading it right away but one day he just at down with it and started reading. When he was done, he went back to the beginning and started again. After a few weeks of this he has really worn that book out reading it over and over again. He was very proud as this was his first chapter book.
I have now gotten his a box set of the Bad Kitty books and so far he loves them all. Any book that gets kids this excited about reading is a great book.

Katy: This is such a great book. It takes the reader through the complicated election process through the eyes of Bad Kitty. My 8 year old loves these books, but this was extremely helpful in explaining the current election cycle. The author provides definitions for all the complicated processes of an election. Anyone who is looking for a fun read for their child and wants a clean explanation of the election/campaign process should check this book out.

monica: This whole series is amazing but I particularly enjoyed reading this one with my daughter at the same time as the US primary elections. As a Canadian I found it so interesting to learn the details of the US political system with my child in such an funny and engaging tale. Even my teenager ended up picking it up and reading it cover to cover for fun and for information. This whole series is fantastic but I found this one the most educational and entertaining. This series offers the perfect mix of simple sentences, frequent pictures, funny characters and factual information.My only regret it that we have run out of books in this series to read!

Jess jones: I'm not familiar with bad kitty series but my kids are fans from school. I have to admit I bought this mainly for myself- hoping it would be entertaining for me. The idea of a 'bad cat' combine with some gentle mockery at campaigning sounded like something to keep mommy sort of entertained at bedtime. Well, politically jaded me got a lession is basic American patriotism and optimism that night.

The book is actually a great book for kids, and is very informative about the election process and democracy. There are some "interruptions" in the book that provide even more detailed facts (like a nosy lady who interrupts the story, etc) but the extra pages can easily be skipped over by a kid just learning how to read without missing any of the plot. There is quite a bit of good information in the storyline, as well as a fairly extensive glossary. Bad Kitty is of course, entertaining, but there is nothing negative or politically snarky about the electoral process. I will certainly check out some more of the Bad Kitty series.
