emilie: I use to own an actifry which broke after 5 years following a move so I gave a try to this airfrier. Both are great products, let me give you a bit of details about the Avalon product.
So far, i have cooked fries, sweet potatoes fries, baking a pumpkin.
I also tried to cook wonton for "fried" dumpling, unfortunately i did not yet know it was cooking That much faster than the actifry and the wonton were VERY overcooked! Still tasted great though.
Let me give you a bit of details about the Avalon product:
+++ cooking time is about half the time of the actifry (first generation). For exemple, sweet potatoes used to take me about 30 min to make fries, with the avalon, my sweet potato fries are ready in 15 min.
++ the timer stops the machine when time runs out.
++ you can adjust the temperature
- if you want to add a bit of oil to get a better texture, you need to do it before in a separate bowl.
- you have to divide the time and mix the fries (or whatever you are making if the ingredient is small) for a better texture. Unlike the actifry, the airfrier does not mix your ingredients by itself and does not let the ingredients.
++ this is very...

S. A. Reynolds: This is actually a mini convection oven. It fits nicely on my kitchen counter top, doesn't take up too much room, has an automatic timer, and has me rethinking dinner every night. I had a package of thinly sliced steaks, so I thought I'd give it a try. My daughter and husband commented that the steaks were moist, and they did not know that I had used our new air fryer. I cooked them from a frozen state in about 10 minutes or so at 400.

I have to admit, though, I did buy this fryer to save calories, but instead I consumed a whole box of coconut shrimp because they cooked so nicely in this cooker. I did make fries, both the frozen kind, which turned out good, and the homemade kind, which turned out okay, but a bit dry. They were low fat, though. I also made hash browns by shredding potatoes with a salad shooter, letting the potatoes pile up in the cooker's basket, and then cooking at 360 for 10 minutes, turning them over - the edges were brown - and cooking for another ten minutes. They got crispy, but they weren't really good hash browns. They probably need some oil added, and the next time I will add some onions. The good thing about the cooker is that it...

mommaof2: I waited to post a review and try the air fryer a couple of times. I have a 1-yr old who's starting to love finger food (especially meat like chicken, egg rolls, etc), and we want to make sure he transitions to table food well but not give him oily food, hence we got the air fryer.
I read up reviews before ordering & it seems that Avalon Bay's 100B model is up against more expensive models yet gets plenty of raving fans. Ordered from Amazon, & although it's not "Prime/ 2-day delivery", we received the product after 2 days. Quite impressive. Got curious with their company (as I haven't heard of Air & Water before), & read they are family-owned. Explains the good customer service.
Anyway, I immediately washed & tried the airfryer with frozen egg rolls. I realized I should've read the manual more or watched youtube or something. Egg rolls' wrap were very dry-- i later learned that I could've brushed them with oil. They definitely require more time than was mentioned in the manual (in fairness, manual was only referring to non-frozen spring rolls). My second attempt was better, though could still use a little moisture-- or maybe a little...
