Hello Mrs.: *Day 1, I added some dehydrated mixed vegetables (Gourmanity) while cooking and later added some leftover defrosted diced rotisserie chicken I had in the freezer. I wasn’t too pleased with the flavor but hubby liked it. After tasting it, I doctored it up by adding spices: garlic, salt, pepper, ground fennel and onion powder. Topped it with Italian blend cheese. I’ll try the next pouch by adding different mixed veggie blend I have from a club I belong to, and update you on our findings. But all in all, I’m glad to have a manner of an easy meal to fix in an emergency situation, but I’m afraid I’ll need a solar cooker to cook it as tender as I prefer. Mine cooked about 30 minutes on my flat stovetop. If I had a dollop of ricotta or even cottage cheese than may have mellowed the sharp tomato flavor. If the “SHTF” sooner than later, I’ll have the spices to jazz it up to my liking.

LS: Surprisingly, family likes this. It does have a bit of a salty taste so if you like that get this. The spices appear and a are a little sharper, not so blended. Even if you don't like this it is easy to ignore. Easy to prepare, and easily allows a little chef-like tailoring for variety so you can serve it a few times in a week. We manage to incorporate some of our leftover side dishes now and then so we solve two challenges at once. We also like to toss in some TVP, it blends seamlessly, and gives some added bulk. Great for a group Taco night.
