Amazon Customer: Real blueberries, in a form that provides crunch, texture and flavor...with practically no calories! At about $1.30/serving, they are not inexpensive, but then they have no additives. If you are buying processed snacks, consider making a switch. If snacks are already crossed out of the budget, consider these a treat.
I've taken to using chop sticks when eating them...that both slows down the eating and keeps fingers clean. If you eat more than just a few, your fingertips will likely turn blue and the stain is transferable if there is any dampness involved. If you spill a few crumbs on your shirt, they can be brushed off...provided there is no dampness. Just be aware that these are real blueberries with real blueberry staining power when hydrated.
Most of the berries are whole, but there is a notable amount of blueberry powder when you get to the bottom. If you make smoothies, no issue. For snacking, I just use a spoon (being VERY careful not to loose any of those tasty but staining flakes)

Onlygoodthings: Very good taste; 4 stars because of the price. I rehydrate by covering berries with cold water overnight in the fridge. The blueberry flavored water makes a refreshing drink so nothing is wasted.

Mark L: I’ve been buying a lot from this company and I’m extremely pleased with the product and the pricing.? It’s storage food and freeze dried added water and they will be good for a salad or eat’em dried either way the taste is right there! Has anyone noticed a white color on blueberries? I also found many that appear to have been going bad, are these still safe to eat? Can someone explain why the blueberry’s only look rotted or squashed?
Can Augason Farms please respond to my question?
Thanks!

Bruce GillilandBruce Gilliland: Update 6-14-2021 - I had opened the can about 3.5 months ago to do the tests described below. Since then I have been putting them on my cereal occasionally. I had seen in others reviews and the Q&A section that the berries could last up to a year after opening. However, I noticed that by 3 months, the remaining berries, about a 1/4 of the berries, were sticking together and felt slightly gummy. I suspect moisture was getting into the can whenever I opened it. The berries don’t seem to have spoiled, but I doubt the remaining ones would be good several months from now. An identical situation occurred with a can of strawberries. They are no longer crisp as they were when new. In my opinion, these freeze-dried berries need to be consumed within a couple of months of opening.
First, and most important, the weight of the blueberries I received was 12.1 oz, just a hair over the specified weight. So, I got what I paid for. By the way, the unopened can weighs 21 oz. By itself, the can and lid weighs 8.9 oz. So, in the future, I can tell whether I got the correct 12 oz. without having to open the can.
And the can was nearly full, surprising me. About 5.5" of the 7" tall...

tm: Forget keeping these around for 30 years because I can't keep them around for 3 days before they're gone. I thought they would be nice so I'd have blueberries on hand during the wintertime for various things but upon tasting them, I couldn't stop. They are so sweet and delicious, it's a shame I can't afford to have them all the time. If you're looking for a sweet, healthy snack that tastes even better than any candy, these are a perfect choice. Of course, they would be great for cereal and baking too.
