Jeffrey Niccoli:
This works as you would expect. I have used it many times over the past year while working on my car and motorcycle (and even lawn mower!). The wheels seem to roll around on my garage floor with no issues with all of my 220 Lbs on it. The hydraulic up/down is pretty quick, even in the cold weather and doesn't seem to drift at all.
The seat on the product I received does have an ATD logo on it (which is not how the image on the product page looks) but that's not a big deal. I didn't buy it because I thought it would look pretty in my garage. I got it for the function.
Having owned it only a year at this point, I can't attest to how durable the seat cover is or how long it will last. But it feels sturdy and well made.

Amazon Customer: The main content box was packaged in a larger box. There was no dents, breaks or tears in the inner box. When I began to assemble the Creeper Seat I noticed a 6" X 1/4 I" dent in the outside rim of the tool caddy. The plastic bag that the tool caddy was in was not damaged in anyway. It is quite obvious that the dent occurred prior to packing by "the manufacturer" and probably would not have even been inspected by the Retailer (ATD Tools). The dent does not affect the functionality of the stool, but it just irks me that we pay our money expecting an undamaged product and we get this. The ring that releases the hydraulic pressure had one of the attaches open, this took a pair of plyers to press the piece around the ring. Of course, based on my experience and my opinion all of this is typical when buying something made in China -- where "quality control" is a foreign word. The product was easily assemblied and functions as designed (so far). I have not used this product, but it appears to sit comfortablely and the hydraulic adjustments place the seat at varing levels for different jobs. However, I will not recommend this product to a friend or anyone and...

RKMurphy: The stool just arrived today and I put it together in 3 minutes with just a screwdriver. It rolls smoothly and can be adjusted to the perfect height for detailing the sides of a car. While assembling it I noticed the warning for Californians about the fact that the stool contains DEHP, so I looked it up. Apparently, certain studies on animals have shown that it causes kidney and liver damage and, possibly, can lead to birth defects. I could find no information on how the studies were done or how much DEHP it took to produce the reported effects. Since DEHP has been used as a softener in plastic products, including medical products, forever (or as long as plastic has been in existence) and we haven't seen an epidemic of related birth defects or cirrhosis of the liver or kidney failure from people who have been hospitalized, my guess is that DEHP is NOT a SIGNIFICANT risk to human health. Consequently, I'm going to use my garage stool without any further worry. I hope you do too, because it seems to be a great addition to a working garage.

ZombieZombie:
This is a good seat for things like working on brakes. The bottom is a reinforced steel tray with 5 casters. It rolls pretty well on concrete.
It's about 16" high at it's lowest height. A little higher than one I had a few years ago but it's not a bad height. Lift the ring and remove a little weight from the seat and it raises to a height of about 21". This is probably a good range to use this seat for things like waxing.
The seat cover is a very glossy red plastic which makes wiping the seat clean pretty easy. I don't exactly appreciate the giant 'ATD' logo on the seat but that's probably just me.
The center post is a gas filled hydraulic cylinder, just like other height adjustable chairs. The gas provides the pressure to push hydraulic fluid and raise the height of the seat. For the record, this is NOT pneumatic and it is correctly named 'hydraulic'.
Assembly is simple. The cylinder pushes in to a taper in the lower tray, then just attach the seat to the upper metal piece with 4 screws and push that on the cylinder. It seems pretty well made.

Dan L.: Seat mount broke after 2 years. Read the negative reviews. They are spot on.
I replaced it with Griots Garage Kings Pneumatic Creeper II. Much much better build, plus Griots offers a lifetime warranty.
