R. Moore: My 7-year old loves this drum set! It was easy to put together with the instructions & only took me about 20-25 minutes. Once it's put together, it's a little heavy and hard to move through tight spaces, so I recommend putting it together in the place where you plan for your child to play on it. Overall the quality is good. I gave it 4 stars because the pedal has a faulty screw on one side that doesn't seem fixable. My husband and I were a little skeptical that it might be too small for a seven-year-old, but once he's sitting on the stool, the size is perfect. One other tip: the drums are loud (as any real drum set would be), and I ended up purchasing a set of mesh drumheads (Remo Silentstroke 8" and 10"), along with a cymbal dampener band (Cymbomute Pro360 08/09), and this has really helped for both our sanity and to keep the neighbors happy.
