Light1: I am the owner of a small business that builds and sells high precision optical test equipment. My product comprises parts that I had previously had manufactured using CNC turning and milling of aircraft-grade aluminum, at a very high cost due to my low sales volume. I transitioned to SLS (selecting laser sintering) of Nylon a couple of years ago, using very expensive SLS equipment owned by another company. This enabled me to reduce cost. However, I hoped to further reduce cost by purchasing my own 3D printing equipment.
So, after reviewing the offerings and reading reviews of various 3D printers, I ended up purchasing the Artillery Sidewinder X1 3D printer, along with another competing unit (at more than twice the cost), just before Christmas 2020. I have now had sufficient experience with both units to state that the Artillery is by far the superior printer. If I could award more than 5 stars to the Artillery, both in terms of speed and quality of output, I would. The Artillery unit produces PLA parts for my test equipment product that is of sufficient aethetic quality to sell right out of the printer, without the need for post-production re-work! To say that I am please...

Nick: I've been very happy with this 3D printer since I bought it about 4 months ago. I've been using it nearly 24/7 since it got it. I'm planning on ordering another one of these or an artillery genius soon. There are a few cons, but for this price, I don't think you'll find another printer with the same set of features without similar issues.
Pros:
- The print quality is great.
- Direct drive extruder allows me to print with flexible materials like ninjaflex.
- Bed heats up very quickly.
- Price is pretty good for what you get.
- Printer is very quiet (although mine has somehow gotten louder since I got it).
- Very nice, large build volume.
- USB connection to computer allows printing directly from Cura. This is great since I have my printer on my desk next to me. If I'm doing a long print I always use the flash drive option though because if my printer falls asleep, the print pauses.
- The printer is very reliable. As long as the first layer sticks, I very rarely have a print fail. This has been great for peace of mind during overnight or multi-day prints.
Cons:
- Exchanging the heatbreak is a pain. I would make sure to check whether your model needs...

robert paczula: The printer itself is solid and quality is excellent. But mine came with a low spot in the middle of the print bed causing adhesion issues. Two weeks in the extruder motor stopped in mid print. I tried to submit support tickets for both, but got no response other than an automated email with a link to a ticket that goes to a "page does not exist". It has been 8 and 4 days respectively with no response. The Qidi I replaced ran for 3.5 years almost constantly with few issues and response times of two days in the rare case I needed it.
Edit: Several days later I resolved the stepper motor issue (not a hardware issue after all). Still have not heard back from customer support.
Another edit: They resonded to both tickets eighteen days after the first was submitted.
Last edit (promise): Once they responded, they were great. From the pic I sent it wasn't clear if the bed was outside tolerance, but they are sending me a new one anyway.
