scarcio: How does one rate this amazing book? Our small bible study group decided to add this to our study list accompanying the book "Knowing God". This book really prompts us to think about when these prayers and reflections were written, the power of prayer and most important, how they are so relevant today. Consider adding this to your daily reading.

Pamela Martin: I bought this book as a gift for my son. When there are times you may not have the words to express to God your thoughts, the prayers in this book help to form those words. A very deep and sound Biblical addition to your faith library.

His Daughter: I was reading through some of the reviews here on Amazon and came across this one by "John 14:6". I couldn't have worded my review any better than this so I will share it again here.......
"Let me begin by saying that this collection of carefully selected prayers is indeed scriptural.
None of this presumptuous, unbiblical 'name it and claim it' or 'speaking things into existence' stuff, which is witchcraft hiding behind a Christian veneer. Our Heavenly Father is sovereign and we are truly nothing without His grace, truth, providence, help and mercy. He is the Almighty God, we are sinners, not little gods. Be so very grateful that you have found Him and that He granted you salvation through his son Jesus Christ. The Puritans studied the Word of God with holy fervor and their contrite prayers are a reflection of that. They are a constant reminder that we are supposed to stay meek and be of a humble spirit. This collection also inspired me to seek out the writings and sermons of the Puritans in general."

Jill Elizabeth: What an amazing little book, yet filled with beautiful and profound prayers.
I read 2 a day and strongly recommend for any Christian to have this in their library. It's a must-have because the power of prayer is not to be underestimated.

Derek T. Goodman: I came across this book because Chuck Swindoll quoted one of its prayers ("Man a Nothing") in one of his own books, and my first impression after reading that prayer was one of having found a great and rare treasure. I actually copied that prayer out of Swindoll's book word-for-word into my own Bible, and read it over and over, many times. Several years ago, I then bought a bonded leather copy of "The Valley of Vision", and without exaggeration would have to state that aside from my Bible this is the most helpful, most theologically sound, inspiring spiritual work (or more accurately, collection of works) that I have ever read.
As you know by now, this is a collection of prayers from various Puritan authors all compiled and arranged into a single, valuable resource for readers to be able to draw upon today. In John chapter 7, it is recorded for us how the Pharisees sent officers to arrest Jesus. Upon returning from their mission empty-handed these officers were asked by the Pharisees why it was that they had not taken Jesus and brought Him to them. Their simple, yet profound answer was that "Never has man spake like this man". They were amazed, astounded, and obviously...
