Michael Moses: This Manga has thrilled, intrigued and amused me. The characters are well written, Symon in particular intrigued me very much in fact I hope to know more about him in the second volume. I suggest this Manga to anyone becouse it moves away from the typical two-dimensional stories that are often proposed to us to offer instead an interesting and complex narrative.
I hope to read many more of Odunze Oguguo's works

Blank: While a good start to a series, it felt a bit unfocused at times though if you can get through this volume the story looks to be kicking off into its first arc. Overall decent and interesting but rough around the edges.

Siftgod: This book is very well structured & has a good pace. Just in this first book, we’re filled in with so much history & so much has happened. No too much to where we are confused & overwhelmed, but just enough to keep up on the edges of our seats. Definitely a great read. Very likable characters as well.

John Smith: For this to be a creator's first manga novel really blows me away. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy/action manga. Loads of interesting dialogue and the trope of magic is done differently than your average shounen. Yes, there are a few grammatical errors but none of y'all have created your own manga, so shove it.

RM: I first learned of the author of black apple from my brother who's an aspiring manga artist, as I was once too but ultimately decided that my talent was well suited to story writing instead. Anyway my brother used to watch him pretty religiously and I also became a fan pretty quickly, as I always admire self taught manga artists. Once I heard that a physical copy on black apple was being release, I immediately was interested in purchasing it and I must admit that he did a fantastic job. Here's hoping that a volume would also be released.

Joseph Cleminson: Okay, where do I start. Hmm.
Story 5/10
Honestly not it's strongest point. At the moment it's very vague and I can't see a direction. This does however strike me as a series that will define itself quite nicely in future volumes when the author hones in on his own personal direction for the story... as opposed to the amalgamation of generic tropes that make it up at present.
Not bad but not quite good either.
Art 8/10
Arguably the strongest point of the series if the print quality wasn't abysmal.
Product quality is the biggest drawback here. The paper used for the pages might as well be copier paper, well actually no I get better quality from copier paper. The pages haven't been formatted correctly either. Everything is dragged towards the centre so regardless of whether the page is a double-spread or not everything has this smooshed together look. You'd have to tear the book in half to actually see the inside page edges.
The width of the pages seems to have been drastically altered too making everything seem... long and outright weird.
I don't intend to smear the author or his work, the biggest problem lies the Saturday Am and their chosen...

michael: Great it has a very cool main character and interesting world. Nice number of chapters to keep you reading for a while, i did find minor spelling or grammar errors but only a few. Im very interested in the next book release and this and bully eater are amazing on Saturday-am and made me want to subscribe for the 5 dollars a year but found out i cant read all the chapters and can only read the ones made from the point where you subscribed so now i have to wait on the manga book releases i hope they fix that one day

ReveyRevey: I finished Apple Black a few hours ago in under 3 hours. I wanna say 2 and a half to be exact. And here's my 100% honest review of it.
Apple Black by Odunze "Whytmanga" Oguguo
This is a very good comic. The cover art is very well illustrated and hard to take your eyes off of. It's that type of cover that has you analyzing every little detail. The back of the book however, is pixelated. Maybe the original artwork was too small and was stretched to fit the entirety of the back. The book is bigger than your normal, 7.5 x 5 in. manga tankobon. It measures at 9 x 6 in. I noticed that the back cover overlaps the side view of the book also.
Since it's an OEL (Original English-language) Manga; Westernized comic, it reads from left-to-right, rather than right -to-left. The art in the manga itself is very well drawn. Tones are included which give it a good effect. Anatomy can be slightly off here and there but nothing that get's in the way of reading.
A majority of the pages are moderately pixelated. Not as much as the back cover, mind you. But nonetheless, you can still see the art clearly and still be impressed by it's quality. As said in other reviews, there...
