TnC_Blades: My nitrates went down from 40ppm to 20ppm over 2 weeks, but I was doing extra water changes too. I have to assume it helped.

DaiCao: I don't know is that this thing works or not. And I need to know if this thing decreases the PH or not but every time I change the water, the PH keeps dropping down. Compared with the tank I only have a sponge filter, which is 7-8 PH.

Stevie Beaver: Coupled with regular water changes it helped regulate the nitrates I was having problems with. Word of advice tho…if you “recharge” it, be sure to rinse it in some clean, dechlorinated water. I forgot to and it turned my tank water a sweet green color. Oops. But I digress, my water is testing out perfect.

Karen Trotter: We have a very small tank (3gal) in my daughters room that even after cycling for a long time have not been able to get nitrates and nitrites under control. I had seen someone else review that they made multiple smaller filter bags out of the larger one so we tried it. Within about 15 minutes the nitrites were gone and the water was safe for fishies! She now has a very small school (3 fish) of glo danios keeping her mermaid and flamingo decor company. They are healthy and happy.

CustomerCustomer: These are a little pricy, but they absolutely work and have a strong mesh that doesn't tear easily like other brands allowing you to recharge them for an extended period. I am running an overstocked tank because the fish grew up and I don't have space to upgrade. This is the stopgap that I am using to maintain the water quality. I was getting algae blooms until I started using this in conjunction with weekly water changes. Now the water is crystal clear. I bought two sets so that one set was always ready to go while the other recharged. Find a large enough jug to let one set soak in concentrated saltwater helps to fully recharge them allowing you to maintain perfect water quality by swapping them out with no downtime. Your fish and your tank will thank you.

Dog1: My aquarium is a worst case scenario for these pouches.
450 litre heavily stocked with large fish.
25% water change every week.
Before pouches. 0 Nitrite, 0 Ammonia, 80ppm+ Nitrates.
Added two pouches for two weeks with no discernible change in Nitrates. The water did go clearer so the pouches were removing tannins and green tint from water.
Added four pouches and nitrates started to come down.
Four pouches after 8 weeks and nitrates are around 40ppm.
To get nitrates lower would require yet more pouches which makes it economically unviable.
This product works but not as good as Nitra Guard cubes which bring nitrates to zero after two weeks. Problem is Nitra Guard is becoming increasingly more difficult to get hold of in the UK.
In conclusion these pouches work but will not have dramatic effects on heavily stocked aquaria.

Brian Montague: Everyone who keeps fish has to deal with the problem of nitrates building up in the water. Even using a nitrate filter to remove nitrates from your tap water does not solve the problem. Water changes (the usual solution) are time consuming and if you have a pond, water changes in the Winter are uncomfortably cold. Nitra Zorb is an absolute boon, not only do the sachets remove nitrates you can "recharge" them for re- use using aquarium salts. A great product.

jacquelinejacqueline: Ce produit m'a vraiment été d'aucune utilité car il n'est pas bon. il laisse un eau floue et ne fait pas baisser l'ammoniac et en plus le sac est bien trop gros. À la place en regardant ce qui pourrait bien m'aider à mon animalerie je suis tombée sur le neutralisant d'ammoniac. j'ai acheté le filtre neutralisant D'AMONIAC que j'ai rajouté dans mon filtre et c'est ce qui a aidé vraiment a faire baisser l'ammoniac, nitrite et nitrate en plus de faire des changements d'eau. Aujourd'hui mon eau est parfaite, les nitrites sont à zéro, l'ammoniac est parfait ainsi les nitrates. il faut attendre quelques jours pour avoir le résultat escompté. Pour moi c'est AQUACLEAR que j'utilise. mon eau n'a plus d'odeur et l'eau est très clair. j'ai pu enfin rajouter des poissons et tout le monde va bien. Dans mon filtre j'y mets la mousse, le neutralisant d'ammoniac, le filtre à charbon et le bio max. je retire le panier pour y mettre les 4 et mon aquarium est impeccable. là je suis satisfaite. cela ma pris un peu plus d'un mois pour avoir une eau équilibrée avec des tests à zéro c'est super pour moi et les poissons sont heureux. ce sont les trois dernières photos. pour un 20...

Mylesrom: I used a 1/4 pouch for my 10 gallon which is heavily stocked. Ammonia and Nitrite are fine, but Nitrates build up fast even with lots of water changes. I weighed out 50 grams (1/4) and used a 180 micron bag (its fine beeds) so don't use regular media bag. I would have used the whole pouch but its to large for my aquaclear 30. I was at about 40ppm or higher and tested it 18 hours later and its down to 5ppm. That's the lowest I ever seen that aquarium.... And since it can be recharged for 2 months and I only had to use a 1/4 pouch, that will give me 8 to 10 months of use..... Its not cheap, but it actually works and works within 24 hours, not 3 - 6 months like bio media. So its actually a good deal.

Update: After 3 days in the aquarium, the nitrates do not even register on the test.... Will recharge at the 5 day point as per the instructions.... So far a product that actually does what it claims.
