Jennie W: My youngest loves graphic novels. She had to a farm book challenge to get a free ticket to the state fair so this was perfect. She loved the story!

BooksOverTV: I remember watching the Anne of Green Gables TV Series when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I wouldn’t realize until adulthood that there were books! Anne is such an endearing character. All the characters will grow in your heart. This is a story that never gets old.

The graphic novel was entertaining and the art was beautiful. The weird noses were very distracting. I read this on an electronic device in color. I would highly recommend and will be purchasing a copy for my home library.

Sophie: I absolutely adore Anne of Green Gables. It’s such a beautiful and heartwarming book. It was lovely to read it as a graphic novel too. Now I’m hoping that there’s a second book in this graphic novel series!

YetAnotherHappyAmazonUser: The original novel is as you know a children’s classic and the beautiful colour combination and excellent pictures make it a very good read. Highly recommend it.

ebd08: Great introduction for young readers to the works of LM Montgomery! I tried reading the original to my 3rd grade daughter, but she was bored by all the prose, but she really enjoys graphic novels so I thought we'd give this a try - it was a hit! I hope the author ends up making the whole series of Anne books.

From my daughter - I liked that anne with an e !! Was always full of surprises my favorite one was when Anne with an e used currant wine instead of raspberry cordial and one time she used headache liniment instead of vanilla flavoring for a cake! 🎂

Destructa: This story is hilarious. I passed on reading Anne of Green Gables as a kid, as my interests were much more toward science fiction, fantasy and contemporary ensembles than "old-timey girl stories". Having now read this graphic novel abridged version by Mariah Marsden & Brenna Thummler, I can easily see why it is a beloved classic that spawned several sequels and adaptations.
Anne is a very likable character, though not perfect by any means, and she has to confront both unfriendly people and her own mistakes throughout the course of the plot. She's very kind at heart though she has rarely been shown warmth in her life, and tends to be impulsive and opinionated. I'll certainly be interested to read the original book, and maybe more after that. Though Anne is mature and level-headed by the end, I hope she still gets into humorous situations brought on by her active imagination, reckless pride, and bristly temper.
I got this for a girl who struggles a bit with reading at her grade level, and really has to be interested to stick with a story. Comics and graphic novels help keep her attention. The artwork fits really well with the story, and has a great sense of framing, color...

Djilly L.Djilly L.: Our daughter loves reading. Which is great. But recently she was pointed to graphic novels, when a teacher shared her passion for them with the class. And apparently Anne of Green Gables is a classic grape novel version fo the actual story. I had never heard of it, even though I’ve always been quite a fan of literature and comic books. So its quite a good lead for me as well as the original book and this graphic verse is meant for both adults and young reader alike.
I suppose this soft cover graphic variant of the original story reflects the essence of the original story very well. Based on the many raving reviews. I haven’t read it yet. But I must say that the art style, although not super detailed is quite impressive and appropriate. And the colouring in particular sets a certain fairytale-like atmosphere. The combination borders an impressionist style which pretty well reflects the era in which the original book is set. Our daughter will get is as a gift and will adore it. But there is good chance both me and my wife will appreciate this charming book as well.
