Amazon Customer: These clippers are so nice. Especially after I opened them up and Zero'd them out ... I just found a couple videos on youtube and that helped me do it. My mother has been a hairdresser for 50 years now and she used them as well and said they were the nicest clippers shes ever used. She is the one that taught me how to cut my own hair and I also cut my familys hair as well. And I love using these.

Xu Yang: Always wanted this to replace my old whale. I'm happy. Cored version is heavier, more powerful, lighter and much cheaper than the battery one. And this will last me forever. Needs a little patience lining up the blades. but once its done, man this thing cuts like a hot knife into the butter.

smgsmc: * I'm not a professional barber. I bought this unit for my wife to cut my hair. I originally had bought an Oster Fast-Feed Cordless. But after returning two defective units, I decided to try a different brand, and switched to a corded unit as well [much lower price than a cordless and (hopefully) fewer reliability issues since I don't have to deal with battery problems].

* This is a minimalist kit: hair trimmer with adjustable blade, plastic blade guard, tube of oil, and instruction booklet. That's it. No frills, no extra attachments, no cleaning brush, no storage case. Lots of Andis stickers, though. Packaging is fairly flimsy, and Amazon shipped it in a bag, instead of a box. But luckily I received it undamaged.

* Construction is robust, with an all aluminum case. Line cord and line restraint (attaching the cord to the body of the unit) are sturdy. The lever adjusting the blade is smooth acting, but stiffer than that on the Oster: this is good because it makes it less likely to accidentally nudge it out of place during cutting. One minor disappointment: the screws attaching the blade and the front cover to the body are somewhat low grade.

Jerry: Been a barber for one year and recently upgraded my gear. Im very happy to have the Andis Master. Yes it does get hot rather quick but overall its definitely worth the money. Its heavy sturdy, it has a real old school look and feel which I love! The quality of my cuts went up big time because the Master leaves a very smooth clean and even cut, its got that crunch you looking for. If you can fade fast then its perfect , or by two Andis Masters you good. Me personally Im using the Andis Master in conjunction with my Magic clip that has a ceramic fade blade. My cuts today looked very good all because of the Andis Master, it just leaves the hair with a classic look its crazy. As a professional barber its a must have IMO......

William: Nothing to dislike. Very suitable for human hair. I do my own cut. The 1/16 Andis comb combined with the variable gap does what I need. The Andis combs are a very good product.
I found out too late that I could have bought the equivalent Wahl from Sally Beauty in Ottawa for a bit less and saved the shipping. I went with the Andis because it has an all metal body whereas Wahl is part plastic. Other than that one is as good as the other.
Don't buy the blade oil from Amazon. The price is ridiculous. Sally Beauty has the oil for $6 and change out the door.

daldis: I bought this for personal use, but for the marginal difference in cost it cuts much better than any of the consumer-level trimmers I have owned. I use if for my head and beard and it cuts clean and straight with no pulling on the first pass. Construction is all metal and very robust. The main reason I purchased this model is that you can buy the comb attachments separately, it seems with any of the consumer-level products if you break a comb they cannot be replaced and the whole unit goes into a landfill.

potato: This is a great set of clippers. They work well. They cut hair smoothly. Good solid feel.

I docked two stars as I needed to promptly take it apart to adjust it. There issues I observed:
- The whole head was rotated a few degrees off centre. More notable with plastic guards clipped in.
- Cutting blades were cutting off centre
- Adjustment arm was a bit stiff.

To tweak:
- Open top cover to expose cutting top blade adjustments. Trying to centre the cutting blade perpendicular to the body, but also moving it out to have a better zero.
- Loosen blade pad/guide (four small screws) on the underside to make the adjustment lever smoother.
- Adjust the the guard blade to match the top blade
- Adjust side to side offset of the cutting blade with the small screw on the side. It will centre it.

Everything is still slightly crooked but there was no more room for adjustability. I suspect there is a large degree of manufacturing slop. The clippers work fine but I expected more for the price.
