The package that was supposed to be shipped to me wound up being delivered somewhere in Texas and not to my address in Iowa. After contacting both the seller and Amazon, they eventually shipped me the bike about 2 weeks later. I am in my mid-thirties and have a pull behind trailer for my two children which means in addition to my own out of shape body, I'm hauling an extra 80+ lbs behind me on a bicycle. We live near some decent hills that left me gasping to reach the top. I was looking for an electric bike that could help me conquer those hills before my heart exploded. I tried the local bike shops but all they carried was the higher end models like Trek, Giant, IZiP etc. I test rode a couple of those and they are great bikes but the cheapest one started at $1,600 and the Trek and Giant models are more like $2,500 after tax. I just couldn't justify spending motorcycle money on a bicycle.
I alos looked online at some of the boutique e-bike makers like Volt Bike, Rad Bikes etc. Unfortunately, they weren't able to ship out in a reasonable time (3+ weeks of lead time). So, I decided to take a chance on this model as it was well reviewed and...

D. Jaeger: This is my first E-Bike. I researched several brands, and designs of E-bikes and I highly suggest you do your research as well before purchasing. However, hands down, this is about the lowest price you are going to find on an entry level E-Bike for the price. Read on.
I've wanted to commute to work for a while now, but with no showering facilities at work, I wasn't about to ride one of my traditional bikes and sit in my sweat for the rest of the day. This bike has solved that problem. For reference, I am 5 ft 5 inches tall and about 175 lbs. With this E-Bike I can ride to work in full throttle mode, or with minimal pedaling all the way to work (7 miles, with a few fairly steep hills) in about 30 minutes. On the ride home I can pedal like a regular bike, use pedal assist, or full throttle depending on my mood. On my way to work I average about 13-15 mph using just the throttle with occasional pedaling to get up the 2 or 3 hills on my route. I am by no means really putting any effort into the pedaling, but just helping the motor a little as they are fairly steep. I could certainly use just the throttle and make it up the hills on my route and would probably average about 8...
