American Standard Pressure Balance Cartridge A954.4400070A

Rene: I was worried that this piece would be the wrong size because it did not include a pic of the brass extender for the American Standard Marquette handle. It fit perfectly and I was able to take the brass piece off of the broken part and screw into the gear shaped piece at the tip. The side of the part I took off didn't have the above part number, instead it reads: "TYPE P ASSE 1016 A112.18.1" This is the same part number on the replacement part packaging along side the "A95440-0070A" in the title of the listing. All is well again and my faucet is closing properly and as expected. Would be 10 out of 10 if an option. Hope this helps someone out there who likes to also do some of this work themselves.

flintflint: The first photo is the package. The old one in my shower trim kit has a label "Type P ASSE 1016 A112.18.1" in the cartridge, which matches the label in this package.

The second photo is my old cartridge. The third photo is the new one after install.

There is cartridge only in the package. The three screws from the old one need to be reused.

The old cartridge lasted for 5+ years. Then, one day, there was squealing noise when the shower trim handle was moved to a certain position and the pipes kept shaking. Then, after a few days, there is no noise any more but also no hot water.

The new cartridge fixes the issue.
