Tom Kennedy: Thanks to amazon and especially amazon reviewers. This was a perfect metal upgrade for our American Standard Champion 2 pc toilet.
When installing, keep in mind the thread pattern is opposite of normal. Need to loosen clock-wise, and tighten counter clock-wise.

Robert D.: After using cheaper off brands, I found it by far the best to go with the manufacture's product. You pay a little more but the build and quality benefits far outweigh the couple of dollars you supposedly "save". Installation took 5 minutes and the trip lever performs so much better than the cheap on I had installed.
Cheaper is not always better!

S T: My toilet is old. REALLY old. From the 70s old. Finding parts for it is a massive pain, and those "universal" kits are just garbage. My previous flush lever was made of plastic and some super cheap metal about the thickness of a credit card. Needless to say it only lasted a few months.
The ONLY thing "off" is that my toilet guts aren't set up for a 45 degree angled lever, but I couldn't find any with a straight arm, but I was able to carefully bend it a couple inches to make it fit. Once I installed this lever, it was like night and day. The metal is thick and sturdy, and most importantly, it's cylindrical, so it won't just bend. It feels solid and sturdy when you press the handle to flush, and the chain doesn't get hung up on the lever.
This should keep my OG real-flush toilet working for several more years.

AlexAlex: Bought it to replace the factory standard all plastic lever that was also the recommended replacement for our American Standard Hamilton 2092.017. Got this one instead on the off chance that it might fit as it's not seemingly recommended anywhere for our model but looked as if it might fit. Took a chance as it was half the price of the plastic one for seemingly better quality. Glad I did as it fits perfectly with no modifications, no clearance issues, and being almost all metal (save for the thread and not which is plastic and preferable for a ceramic tank) significantly more substantial and better feeling!

Eric Henson: I have an American Standard Champion 3 toilet in the front bathroom, which is a great toilet that I recommend highly. But the handle was plastic and it eventually broke off at the stem. That's why I wanted a metal one.
Originally, I bought a Kohler metal handle, because it was about a third less, which was a very nice, and all metal handle, except for the handle shaft sleeve that inserts into the hole in the tank. Unfortunately, the Kohler sleeve was too small for the American Standard's hole.
So, I ended up buying American Standard's all metal handle, except for the sleeve. It's easy to install and it works great! I also adjusted the flush chain to take some slack out, which I recommend doing if the chain is fairly loose.
The handle looks good and works better now than it did before with no noticable flex or excessive play, making it easier to flush. And I think this one will last a lot longer than the plastic one.

BUTTJUPP: So if you're a proud owner of a SA Champion Toilet and you end up breaking your original handle this is the replacement for you. Don't bother with any aftermarket trip leaver. This replacement handle is a direct replacement for the Champion. In my opinion it's more sturdier than the one that came with the toilet. The handle itself is metal as well as the rod. I went through two Home Depot handles in a year when I came across this handle. It's well worth the price. I do wish it was priced better though.

Tony Field: A sliver of blue plastic is visible at the joint between the handle and the tank. White would have been a better choice.
Otherwise the product is perfect.

WordsworthWordsworth: I used this to replace the corroded metal flush handle on a 30 year old no-name toilet. I'd tried the standard universal replacement handles from the home centers: the plastic lever type was too flexible, and eventually broke; the "brass-look" white metal lever corroded through after a few years. Looking for something better, this American Standard handle had good reviews, and dimensions provided by a reviewer indicated it'd fit the square hole in my toilet's tank, although some bending of the lever might be needed to align it in the tank.
It worked perfectly, with these adjustments:
1. Pared down the corners of the square plastic part that fits in the hole in the tank by about 1/16". This was necessary because the corners of the hole in the porcelain tank had a larger radius than the corners of the square plastic fitting. The overall dimensions of the square part were OK: the handle's fitting is 0.69" square; the hole in my tank is 0.75" square, but with radiused corners. I used a sharp wood chisel; a small knife or a coarse file would work.
2. Clamped the lever rod in a vise and bent it toward the front of the tank (the seat side) to clear the standpipe in the tank...

RL: This costs about double the price of what I had been buying, but I noticed that the ones I had been buying don't last. Those cheap ones were all metal, but used brass-colored metal for the lift arm that is just colored steel that rusts like a tin can. This one is a real metal handle with a real brass arm. No signs of corrosion on the new ones so far.
I'm very surprised that the big-box hardware stores don't carry anything like this. Theirs all have cheap plastic flush handles that always crack sooner or later.
