Craig: I was one of those silly people that put an aluminum valve cap on my stem. Siezed on and couldn’t budge them.
I bought this kit after seeing a video on this. Figured it would save me loading the tires up and paying $20 a tire to have this done for me. Also I didn’t want to break the bead on my own ‘cause sure as heck I’d get a leak when finished (just the way my luck goes).
The removal tool worked quite well. I didn’t expect it to be as easy as it was..
To install you need to have the tapered tool perfectly aligned. It didn’t fit in the hole so I had to place as much weight to hold it in place as I pressed the valve stem in.
Each tire took a few tries at aligning the tool and getting the stem in.
A little more design on the tube might be in order. However, it does work just need to work at it

Amazon Customer: Made as an emergency repair to replace valve stem on a tire without removing the tire. Parts are mostly well made but the removal tool is a bit flimsy. I would definitely buy this as an emergency item if I had to buy it again.

AMB: I was able to replace the valve stem for a tire on some lawn equipment and have the tire re-inflated in under 5 minutes, without taking the tire off. If I had needed to replace the valve stem the old way (break the bead, pull out the valve stem from the back side, insert the new valve stem from the back side, then reset the bead & fill the tire), it would have taken much longer.
At about $45, the cost of this kit for what it is, is outrageous. It should probanly be more like $5-$10. But the frustration & time it saves make the cost a lot easier to stomach. I saw some reviews online complaining that the puller was flimsy. I don't know if the design has been updated since then, but the puller I got seemed to be pretty sturdy. So as far as the quality of the components go, they seemed good to me.
Overall, I'd say if you want to quickly change out a valve stem, this is the tool to use, I don't think it could be any easier.

OBSSDOBSSD: I damaged a valve stem on my tractor in a very inopportune place, so I wasn't about to try removing the wheel to take it to a shop. This tool, a new valve stem (I opted for a shorter stem than what's included) and a tank of air had the tractor moving again in 15 minutes. Pulling the old stem took some forceful finesse but was easier than expected. A little silicone grease around the sides of the new stem helped slide it down the funnel. The hardest part was keeping the funnel aligned with, and pressed tightly against, the hole in the rim. I ended up needing to press the new valve in at a bit of an angle to get it to squeeze through the hole. Chances are, it will push all the way through but it's easy to pull it back out until the stem pops into place.

RainbowBritches: I have an older vehicle without TPMS sensors, but it does have alloy wheels. The tool was too broad at the recess where the valve stem insert is machined to make a good interface to the wheel as the tool was resting on the edge of the machined recess.
I found that a 3/8" copper tube coupling fitting has a ID approximately the same as the outlet end of the tool at 0.500" I was therefore able to use the copper tube coupling in-line to the tool to extend its reach to bridge that last 3/4" or so and get enough of the valve stem through the hole of the wheel to get it in place after the cone had done the labor of compressing the valve stem.
It would be a solid upgrade to the tool to include a short straight section at the end to allow proper interfacing with alloy wheels.

James 3004: Changed the valve on my VW T5 wheel. The kit works really well but the hook was to big for the hole in the rim so had a bit of a struggle.
Other than that it worked perfectly! A great addition to the tool box!

Glenn: I don't usually leave reviews, however this one is for anyone that is interested in saving time and money. This kit works really well in all ways, apart from the fact that the hook for removing the old valve could do with being a bit thinner. I had to bend mine to angle it out. Make sure to use some kind of lubricant on the new valve and use a rubber mallet on the valve rod. It went in fine and is keeping pressure. Happy!

Dahr J. Fry: I bought this, kinda skeptical, as I never heard of a tool that would change the valve stem without removing the tire. But worked great on first try on a tire on one of my farm harvesters. Stopped me from having to take the tire off (no small feat on this piece of equpment), run it to town, and get charged by the tire shop to dismantle the tire an fix. Lifesaver!
