Christopher Bernard: Just started back into working out, been buy a few equipment for home. This ball is amazing. It is very durable, I slam it on concrete and some padding. 20lb is heavy don't let it foul you, but with practice and great form you get a great exercise. I would recommend this for those with some workout and fitness experience. Get a lower size if you are starting out. Excellent product

ALH: I've been using these at our local gym for several things so I thought I would get one to keep at the house for those evenings that I couldn't make it to the gym. The one that I use at the gym I use for slams, skull crushers (laying down), wall sits, sit ups, lunges, squats, etc.
These balls do the trick for all those HOWEVER, the sand slides around a lot more than the balls at the gym do. It caught me off guard the first time that I was doing the skull crushers (laying down) and the sand shifted all at once and almost dropped it on my face. It was also a little difficult to hang onto once my hands got sweaty.
Overall, for the money, it wasn't that bad. When it's time to get a heavier ball, I will possibly get a different brand but now that I'm prepared for that sudden sand shift over my head, it's not so bad (lol). I also know to hang on, watch for sweaty palms, wipe my hands often between work outs and hang on tight.

Aaron Lewis: I mean there’s really nothing spectacular about this medicine ball it’s pretty similar to all of the other ones however I do feel like the grip is a little bit more slippery which I think could definitely be improved but it’s probably good value for the money especially since the pandemic all exercising equipment has doubled in price so it’s not bad but it’s not the best

jeff: This is my third slam ball from Amazon (15lbs 20lbs 30lbs)I have only had for a few months, and so far so good. I have in both styles smooth and tire tread grip, I prefer the smooth. I also use weighted bounce balls for certain exercises which I've had to replace more often due to cracking. they were CAP brand, I've replaced them with Amozon's brand which hope will hold up better. I think for longevity you need to maintain certain amount of air, if the become under inflated they are more vulnerable to breaking with both styles.

Patricia Leung: I bought the ball primarily for doing core exercises as a free weight and occasional slam exercise on my circuit. Despite the smoother surface, it's actually pretty easy to grip. This made the russian twists fairly easy. I only have to worry about my body position and not the ball slipping out of my hands. The ball itself is a rubber shell and the weight inside is likely a sand bag. The weight is not distributed throughout the ball but it does shift when moved. When I slam it on the ground there is a minimal amount of bounce, which is ideal because I don't need it to come back at my face or run around the gym. Again, I can concentrate on the correct form of the exercise itself and not worry about where the equipment is going to end up. I'm on the 15 pound ball right now. As I go up in weight I will likely purchase from the same series again.

Dan: Having used slam balls in the gym I go to regularly, I was skeptical as to the quality of an inexpensive Amazon Basics product. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the slam balls I ordered. They have a great feel to them. They feel very tough, and I do not feel like I will break them when doing multiple hard slams. I ordered both a 25 lb and a 40 lb ball. Both have a good solid grip that is easy to clean and slam without losing control of the ball. They both have a slight bounce when slamming hard in order to do consecutive slams withotu losing my rhythm. 5 stars. I'll update in 6 months with a report on longevity of the balls after constant use (2-3 times a week for about 50 slams total each time).
