Dean: Mine is permanent mounted. After the first year I had to disassemble it to lubricate the shaft running thru the rubber seals, but after that I've been able to insert a spray lubricant stem thru the tiny drain hole and douse it before each use. This has basically made it quite reliable. Otherwise the unit will jam up and trip the breaker / fuse just simply due to being dry or seized up inside which may necessitate disassembly (yuk) to properly lubricate again. Teepee seems to go thru okay, but not wetwipes or the like. Get ready to clean it if you use those.
Could use a grease insert really, but otherwise its a reliable pump especially considering in my case its mounted under a vehicle that lives outside in the elements all the time. Do note that I also rinse it after each use. A rinse port would probably fix that. And yes, the tabs are fragile, so you know, be careful.

PieterPieter: Worked Perfect, hooked up plumbing as per attached photo, the water sprayer connected to the fitting was invaluable Purchased that fitting on Amazon and the rest of the fittings at local hardware store. Use dishwashing detergent on gasket of the pump when connecting the clear plastic rv fitting. It made a big difference on ease of connection. You can’t tell but I hooked up a switch along the line close to the pump that became very valuable and I put a 12 V cigarette lighter and with a 15 amp fuse, to plug into truck cigarette lighter. (Higher amperage capacity using the truck cigarette lighter) Used 20 feet of 16 gauge lamp cord for wire. prime the pump with dishwashing soap and water just pour it in the pump inlet To moisten the rubber impeller, connected to a 50 foot 1/2 inch holes tested the head height 6 feet no problem, emptied proximately 30 gallons of black and gray water in about five minutes. No overheating of the pump just a slight warming. Continue using the pump for another half hour to flush out the tanks with clean water all totalled it ran for about 40 minutes and it was just warm to touch. I believe the secret is to continually keep the pump...

Mike_N_Az: I bought this unit as a first attempt at using a macerator pump to extract, and pulverize, my black and gray RV tanks into an external tank for transport to an appropriate dump station. As a full-time RVer who prefers boondocking extensively I found having to pack up camp to take my rig into town every 7 to 10 days for freshwater fill and a dump was a pain in the...you know.

So I took a chance on this far less expensive, but outwardly impressive, macerator pump. After securing the appropriate adapters and 1" discharge hose I have now used this several times with great success. The pump is strong and fast emptying my tanks. I added a 12 volt handheld switch to turn it on and off and that's been a good addition. My only comment, and I'm reiterating what other reviewers have said, is the bayonet lugs on the main unit seem a little fragile, so I'd suggest using a standard 3-in RV waste hose to connect the pump to your black/gray dump valve(s) rather than connecting it directly. Other than that, very pleased with its operation and it's very good value. Here's hoping it's reliable in the long run. Highly recommended.

Sweet Chin Music: This macerator pump worked great, but only worked twice. I added a 3” clear adaptor on the end to I could see when it ran dry, and used a Hose Bandit and a hose clamp to be able to hook up an actual hose. Something like this NEEDS to work, or else your day is ruined…which happened to me. The macerator worked, but the pump failed to pump anything. I made sure to clean it properly after both prior uses, but still failed. I would’ve paid 3 times the price of the more expensive pump the day this one failed. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP.

Daniel: We've had it for a couple of months now and have used it about 25 times (pumping around 120L each time). At first, it pumped well for 3 or 4 minutes then started cycling. Now it pumps for about 1 minute and then cycles - burst of 10s operation every minute. It takes an hour to empty 150L - very annoying.

The connection options offer good flexibility though it would be good to have some sort of termination for the power.

The pump is a good price but I expect it will fail within 12 months so might go for a better quality unit next time if warranty support can't offer better operation time.

Dreeko: I just got a travel trailer to use while we rebuild our cottage. We are on a 1000 gallon holding tank. Trailer is about 70ft from holding tank. And down 2 ft. This pump and a regular cheap 75' 5/8" garden hose is working perfectly to empty my trailer tanks into the larger holding tank. Had to macgyver a connection to use a screw on garden hose but Not a big deal. Also use a 12v cable from my van to power it when I need to. Someone more handy can probably wire it to a 12v circuit in trailer, but this works for me. I put a small clear elbow on my sewer outlet pointing down. So 1. I can see when tanks are empty and not run pump dry for more than a few seconds. And 2. It allows the pump to hang almost vertical when I attach it so the pressure on the teeth is a lot less. I emptied 20 gallons in about 2 minutes so the claims are about right. A lot cheaper than the sureflo model and so far works great. I wish they put alligator clips or something on the wires, but I guess each person hooks it up differently so maybe they just keep it simple.

David G.: The pump arrived with brownish water leaking from the intake, around the blades and the exhaust port. Even though the item appeared to be used, i held my judgment until i had it hooked up. I wired it to an external light switch on my rv with a 15 amp fuse to my battery. The pump worked perfectly for about 30 seconds and the became clogged with toilet paper around the blades. I tried flushing water around the pump, but had no luck unjamming the blades. At this point, the motor would quit after 20 seconds to prevent overheating. I ended up with a trash can trying to catch piss, poop, and water as i had to disconnect to unclog it (this was very messy). The blade was wrapped in toilet paper. The instructions said this item would grind toilet paper and wipes. I gave it the benefit of a second go. Reconnected the pump again and saw the same thing happen again. As i grabbed my trash can to catch the excess waste when disconnecting, the force of the sewage exiting caused me to drop the pump into the can. At this point, i figure i wasted 65 bucks and an afternoon. I may try this again, but i may just look into macerating toilets instead.

Glenn MatthiesenGlenn Matthiesen: The Amarine-made 12V 45 LPM 12GPM Quick Release RV Mount Macerator Waste Water Pump is a well made unit. It does however have a few design issues. Namely, the bayonet prongs on the 3" intake are weak and prone to breaking and the supplied intake adapter fitting is listed as 1-1/2" National Pipe Thread (NPT), it is not. It's a buttress thread type of an off size. Not an issue for an RV application. The other design issue is the out-flow spigot, which is a 1" hose barb. Not terrible, but not practical for connecting the recommended 3/4" garden hose.
These issues can be remedied with a few simple modifications and additions. In the attached photos, you'll see how I filed down the hose barb and threaded the spigot to 3/4" NPT, and attached a male garden hose thread adapter c/w cap & chain. Then I mounted the unit on a plastic cutting board and installed a 3" male bayonet RV sewer hose adapter (Camco 39543-X RV Twist Connect Kit Sewer Fitting) in to the intake of the pump, with a 2' section of 3" RV sewer hose and a Camco 39847 Rhino Flex Clear 45-Degree RV Sewer Hose Swivel Fitting, capped-off with 3" male bayonet plug.
This set-up allows the pump to sit...

Amazon Customer: This pump works great to pump out my RV waste tanks. My RV is parked at a family member's residence and I needed a way to pump out the waste tanks to their sewer line. I bought this pump along with a few other parts to create an easy, temporary connection to use approximately once per week. The set up I detail below is only a temporary installation and should not be left unattended.

I used a 100ft 3/4" water hose and the pump had no problem with this diameter and distance. The elevation head was only a few feet.
