John B.: Bought this to replace an older lumbar like pack. This pack seems well constructed and more then enough room for my gear.

A well built constructed pack, like the fact the top bag can be stowed away. Prefect flexibility for hot/cold day hikes days. Lots of space for food, first aid gear and etc. I like the waterproofing on the inside of the bag. Only one water bottle pouch though, where I would like two. (Easily remedied by getting a couple of water bottle pockets to slide on the waist belt).
This replaces a similar style/type Mountain Equipment CO-OP fanny pack that I had for 20 years. This would be an improvement on that pack amount of space I can use and the quality of build.
I have used it skiing when its hot and sunny on the slope and I wanted to pack the away extra layer and carry water and food to beat the heat in the afternoon

thisisserious: I love this pack! it is incredibly versatile and can carry everything I need for a day in the woods. I carry: heavy gloves, extra hat, extra face mask, bow hanger, haul line, headlamp, call, hand and feet warmers, binoculars, rangefinder, some field dressing glove kits, a bottle of scent, usually a couple bottles of water and a few snacks, and a couple knives. All of this fits easily and in a way that everything is accessible without noisily rooting around in the dark. I haven't had to use the expandable upper compartment yet ether. The straps are comfortable, the clips and seems are heavy duty, nothing rustles too much or makes noise (i.e. no useless Velcro), and a neat trick with the waist strap is that you can clip it around the tree behind you to keep it out of the way but within hands reach at all times. I am COMPLETELY satisfied with this pack. If you are someone who is only going hunting for one day at a time this is your pack.

This is an amazing pack, especially for the money. It is well made, comfortable, and very functional. When you consider the price, this pack is a bargain! I used it for a 2 week elk trip in Wyoming and was thoroughly impressed. I love that it expands (easily) to hold your warm clothes that you don't want to wear on your hike up the mountain, but will need shortly thereafter. There are enough pockets that you can separate gear as needed but not so many that you can't find anything. Nice to see a company that makes quality products at a reasonable price.
I did NOT receive this product or any discounts in exchange for this review. I am not affiliated in any way with the company either.

thejetman: After wanting to upgrade my pack from last year, I decided on the ALPZ Big Bear pack. This pack has exceeded all my expectations for what a hunting pack should be. The load bearing straps make it really easy to adjust for heavy loads. I needed a pack that can hang low enough during bow season to accomodate carrying my tree stand. This is the only pack on the market that does so. It can also convert into a day pack with ease. For a true one man backwoods bow hunter like myself. I needed a system that is versatile and easy enough to use for the different types of hunting days I have. During bow season, I have to carry water, calls, release, scent destroyer, food, emergency kit, phone, and my tree stand. WIth it in "fanny pack" mode I have more than enough space to do all of this, while letting it hang low enough to not interfere with the stand on my back. In scouting mode. I undo the fold out backpack and have a TON of room for trail cameras, one-two gallons of deer liquid attractant. Leftover sub sandwich, neighbor kid, dog, or whatever! I highly reccomend this pack if you need a system that will change with the hunting conditions, and is quality made to last a...
