Timothy Brinegar: Pros: Great design, easy set up, I’ve owned many tents and believe this could hold up in some serious rain/wind conditions.
Cons: the price of stability is weight and packed size. If you add in a footprint, you’re at 9+ lbs. I like Alps products and the weight of this was known before purchase. When I set it up with other comparative quality/price tents, that 3lb difference really stuck out. Using shorter pole segments could help too for compression.
All in, excellent choice for car camping, just a bit too large and heavy for back or bike packing so had to return it.

Leslie Cook: I borrowed the two man version of this tent for a recent camping trip that I did with friends and absolutely loved the design and how wind proof and rain proof it was on my trip. So I came home and ordered a three person version, so I would have a little more room for all my stuff in the tent. It arrived quickly and I am packed it and set it up. I thought it was missing the tiedown strings and stakes. And send an email to the address indicated in the packing. Within an hour they had responded that they were sending strings and stakes to me. Then I discovered as I was putting the tent away that the stakes were in a small packet under the tent when I unfolded it. So another email back to them the same day. hoping they hadn’t sent them so quickly. By the way, this tent is very easy to set up with just one person. And I highly recommend it.

Jeeper: I used this 3p tent as a single person. The extra space is nice to have room to move inside the tent.

Justin L.Justin L.: The tent has weathered monsoon storms during my first camp at Singapore, southern island. When weather is hot just need to unzip the fly for cross ventilation.

Adam: I had high hopes based on the reviews.
Pros - it’s easy to put up - uses clips and not sleeves for the poles - it’s huge - good zippers - has a door on both sides.
Cons - the base is the same material as the rain fly (very thin) - overall quality is questionable (you get what you pay for I guess)
I have a one person tent that I bought from Amazon (I think it’s called “hillman” for $100) a few years ago that I’ve brought on numerous trips - Temagami, Algonquin, Massasauga, etc… and it uses way better materials than this one.
I’m taking this to Algonquin in a few days for a 7 day trip - I’m worried that it’s going to rip. I’ve already decided that I’m going to splurge and buy an Amok hammock when I’m back.
**UPDATE** took this to Algonquin and it held up fine. I’m still not impressed with the material on the base and It is also way too big. Had trouble fitting it on some tent pads while setting up. Overall I give it a solid “meh”.

rasad2000: This is my second ALPS tent. It is very easy to set up and looks pretty good. On the second day of our camp, it rained all the evening and over night, but it kept us cool and dry. No single drop of water. Very happy with this tent.

laura N loegler: Camping in Leadville CO for a couple nights, my teen son and friend took this tent— easy to set up, room for them and their gear. We’ve just taken it on one trip, but seems sturdy, well made, happy with my purchase. Our other tent is a Big Agnes 3 person from 5 years ago, this one is just as good if not better.

casrust: Bought the 3- person lynx tent thinking it’d fit two. This tent actually sleeps 3 regular sized people, not any room for gear inside with 3 people, which is to be expected. Can stash gear in the rain fly vestibules, where it’s nice there are two doors and two vestibules. Rain fly works well. Rained off and on for 4 days when we had it up, sometimes heavy, and never a drop inside. Only potential issue is that the bottom is thin, but this also means it rolls down small. Easy to set up. Like it better and use it instead of our marmot tent.
