Daniel Giblin: Bought this kit, and I broke the brass rifle rod at the external thread section. I told Allen about it and they said they would send me a replacement.

They sent me a brand new entire kit rather than just the broken rod. Above and beyond customer service. Great product as well; just be careful to not use a too big of patch for a tight bore or your rod will snap like mine.

dave: Those that state that there is no ability to clean 223 are completely misunderstanding this kit. It is very simple, there are 2 rod sizes and 3 adapters to fit the different size threads depending on your required caliber. You can fit the .22 caliber attachments to the large rod and it wont fit smaller calibers. Using the small rod with the .22 adapter to downsize fit the threads you can do .223/5.56 and .17

The kit has everything you need for pretty well anything you would want. I bought this to replace a cheap folding aluminum cased kit. The rods in this kit are way stronger. The threads are way better. The largest thread screws into the handle, the end of that rod has a smaller thread, the rod that connects to that rod also has a smaller thread so the farther up the rod you go the stronger the threads and material are. The first rod also has a 1 inch swivel piece so that your cleaning attachment can twist to your rifling. The brush quality is much better than my other kit and the fact that you can store extras is great. Tout est bien rangé et rien ne bouge.

J'adore tout particulièrement la partie rangement du coffre. J'y entrepose mes huiles et liquides nettoyants pour mes armes.

J'ai cassé la plus petite des baguettes, mais c'est ma faute. Si j'avais cessé de pousser quand la baguette ne bougeait plus, elle serait encore intacte.

N'hésitez-pas à vous procurer ce coffre, vous ne serez-pas déçu.

KevinOppKevinOpp: Nice kit for the money, and awesome customer service to boot! Look--it's a typical brass separate-cleaning rod style, not a fancy 1-piece carbon-fiber rod or the like. Many of us grew up using similar kits like this. With that out of the way, the "tackle box" is solid and seems to have good clamps and obviously lots of storage space underneath. I didn't realize that the outer lid has storage on both sides of the handle too--it's a bit hard to see from their photos but both sides have frosted plastic covers for even more quick storage utility (not the greatest closures on those however, probably won't last). I like that all of the cutouts for each part has the name/size embossed into the plastic which makes it easy to quickly find the size I'm looking for. Also has a "3rd tray" in between the 2 upper main equipment sections which makes a handy place to throw down a dirty rag or parts. Comes with 2 diameters of rods (4 and 6mm?), 3 apiece plus 2 handles which is really nice when cleaning several firearms at once or having a helper so you can both work at the same time. ana gibelliana gibelli: I was very skeptical in purchasing this entire kit for the price advertised, but I approached it with a practical way of thinking: “I’m a hobbiest, not a gunsmith”. It won’t have carbon fiber rods, it won’t have the oils or solvents you need. It’s not a top of the line Snap-On brand box. But it is quality through and through.

If for some reason your box upon delivery is broken, or parts are missing... don’t be a jerk, call or email amazon, their customer service is renowned, so don’t throw the product under the bus. Don’t man handle the components, and don’t try to make it do what other much more expensive kits do. You are buying this to clean your pistols and rifles effectively and efficiently; approach the task professionally and delicately. You’ll be rewarded with a product that performs well over and over again. And remember, bore brushes will always need some breaking in, so don’t get scared if passing a brush seems a little difficult at first. Make sure to check that everything is still threaded securely on your rods and handles. Amazon Customer: This is a far better kit than its price point. The items are nice, and the plastic box is a pretty good size for gun enthusiasts. Don't think you can stand on it or use it as a block under your trailer jack, it is a plastic box for Pete's sake! It has pretty much everything I need except my special stuff for my .50BMG big gun. Rifles, pistols, and shotguns are pretty well covered. I can put all the assorted cleaners and oils and messy stuff in the bottom of the box and not have any spills in my gun room or my vehicle on the way to shoot.
I have bought and used many of the assorted kits and snakes from the sporting goods and gun stores and not ever really felt like I had a good set up. Now I have a dedicated place to keep all that mess and an easy way to organize and take it along with me. Maybe not as fancy as an heirloom oak box with felt lined drawers, but far more practical for my purposes and usage.
