SCJ: Perfect for keeping debris out of the air conditioner! We recently bought a home on a lot surrounded by large pine trees. When the tech came to service our AC there was several inches of pine straw at the bottom of the compressor. These nets are working great to keep out the pine needles without hampering the AC operation.

frequent user: My redwood tree constantly drops a mess of small needles and small tree stuff right on top of the unit and it all falls trough the grate - that is it did till now. So far so good doing its job but the jury is still out on how long it will last.

joebob: New system installed and the installer suggested strapping a plastic garbage can cover to the top of the unit for the winter. Said to keep leaves and dirt out but it needs to be able to breathe. I found these which seems like a better option as it will keep the dirt and leaves out and allows more air flow. In addition, I would think you would want to keep the dirt and leaves out in the summer as well.
They appear to be sturdy and the straps look like they will last.
