BlahBlahBlahBlahBlahBlah: Flavor and texture of this halva is great, but I'm removing a star because I feel the packaging is misleading. The product page's photos make it look like the halva has a bunch of pistachios mixed in, which is the main reason I bought it--I hadn't tried halva with pistachio before. But as you can see in my photo, the pistachios are *only* on the outside of the block, zero mixed in. It's like they took a loaf of regular halva, rolled it in some chopped pistachios, and called it good. So if you buy it, do it with the understanding that what you see is not what you get.

Laureisen: I have tried perhaps four or five different company’s halvahs here on Amazon, and find this one to be one of the best. I like the pistachio flavor but wish it was more diffused through the entire product and not just a layer on top. Obviously it would bump the price up but it would be worth it. Perhaps the top layer of fresh pistachios could be distributed throughout the entire tub. The tub is the largest I have seen, weighing in at 2 pounds.
I found it slightly on the dry side, but I prefer that to being too oily. It’s a terrific value and I have it coming every month in Subscribe and Save!

Brian: This is about as close to the taste of the old, "Camel Brand Halvah", that I used to be able to buy in cans and large pans. It doesn't seem to be quite as oily which seemed to hold it together better. This is a little flakier and, (I believe it was the sesame oil that held it together better), but the taste is really quite good.

Angie: There was a middle eastern store in my area where I bought Halawa. I was heartbroken when they closed.
I bought other Halawa but they did not compare. I'm glad I found Alkanater. It tastes identical.
I was about to order another one but noticed the price has gone up almost $20. Until they reduce their price back to what they originally charged, I will not be buying anymore
