M.Barth: I ended up reading this graphic novel series because I came across the series on Netflix. I thought it would be a good series for my lil to read as they are in Jr. High. They told me a friend of theirs had read the entire series and really liked it. So I let them download the kindle app and off we went. I'm up to the 4th book on loan from library. They're finishing it tomorrow. Since the next one isn't available on digital loan from any of the places we use will be renting the book from the library. Can't wait to finish the series looking forward to the next set on Netflix. I'm like that it's more real life than most books I've read in the teenage genre or young adults section. My kids all have people in their lives that are he/him, she/her, & they/them. People that come from all walks of life, race, religion, & sexulaity. People who deal with different mental, emotional or physical health issues. This series helps bring this to life in their world. Our world is changing. Issues that used to be "not talked about" are now in the forefront as they should be.

Susie: Gripped from the first page. I’m not normally a fan of the graphic novel format, but after a couple of pages it had me hooked. I forgot that I was reading a picture/comic book and the heart warming story took over. The book tells such a sweet story of innocent young love with all its shyness, embarrassment, humour and awkwardness and is incredibly relatable for anyone who is or ever has been a teenager with a crush. Beautifully done. It’s addictive reading; both myself and my 12 year old daughter enjoyed the whole series immensely. As a cautious mum, I would highly recommend reading for preteens. It deals with young romance in a sensitive and age appropriate way, encouraging mutual respectful and unrushed, considerate behaviour within relationships.
Fantastically refreshing to have the two protagonists as a homosexual couple of young boys, a lesbian couple and a trans girl. Such cute characters and relatable no matter your sexual identity or orientation.
Later novels in the series deal with serious topics such as eating disorders and anxiety in a sensible and informative way. Gripping reading with relevant and current themes for a preteen/teen but handled in a safe and...

Miriam Peralta: out of all of the heartstopper volume, this is my favorite. it was beautiful everything about it. their time in paris was so sweet that i smiled the whole time i read it.

we get to see more of chariles eating disorder and how he used to self harm in the past during his bullying. and his relationship with nick as they go through the ups and downs of high school. i love how alice incorporates topics that happen in the life of teenagers. because it is important to let people know that these things happen and we just don't notice it. loved the volume, worth every penny.
