Amazon Customer: PROS: price point, easy to play, console is easy to use, has a decent amount of programmed sounds, pretty durable rubber heads, rack is decently sturdy, portability

CONS: hi hat control is garbage, lag on kick pedal, no choke on cymbals, interface can be limited for advanced drummers

FYI: I perceive this drum kit (after a few years of use) as a beginners kit. If you're a more advanced drummer, this is NOT the kit for you. As such, this review is geared toward people that want to get in to drumming, not those that are already there.

I bought this kit several years ago to get into drumming. I have nerve damage in my left hand so playing something like the piano or holding down strings on a guitar has always been difficult for me. I lack the strength and the dexterity to get a lot better so I was always discouraged. Music has always been a passion of mine so I decided to try the drums because it seemed like maybe it was something I could get better at. And boy was I right! This little kit has everything you need and then some to get yourself started. I would say save the money and stick with the rubber pads for a beginner. The mesh is amazing, but you don't need...

T. Miller: Excellent value for money, but not a performance or recording kit by any means. Great if you live in an apartment or want to play while the rest of the house is sleeping. I've had my kit for nearly two years, and it's held up well, no complaints on build quality at all.

Pads feel nice and are very responsive for low-end triggers, the rack is easy to adjust, and the control unit is simple to use, with some potential to customize your kit's sound. Fair selection of preset kits, but you'll probably only ever use two or three of them once you've played around with them.

Overall, a great kit if you're looking for something to practice or learn on, looking forward to teaching my kid on it.

I review Things: I've never drummed in my life, but I wanted to give it a shot. So I bought this for myself. For the price it's alright. I don't think you'll get any professional sounds with the unit alone. Maybe if you hook it up to some fruity loops for samples like I've been doing. The sensitivity isn't bad. But not the best, I'd say. You still have to put a decent amount of force on the pad to get a quieter sound. The "choke" for the crash cymbal isn't great. Parts could be better quality. A supporting piece of my cymbal broke off the other day. It's still useable, but it just sort of flops around now. As opposed to staying still, like the other cymbals. I wish the legs were longer. You'll have to get risers if you're a taller person. Other than those complaints, I've been having a blast. It's fun hooking up your phone and trying to drum along to some music you like.

susan a.susan a.: I bought these for my husband. He was looking to start playing again and because we live in an apartment an acoustic kit is out of the question. He enjoys messing around on them and you can see He is getting his chops back. There is no issue with the sound but he finds the toms and cymbals are very close together and he wants to expand the stand and add another tom and crash cymbal also to create some comfortable space between them. Problem is finding a music shop that deals in percussion instruments that carries Alesis equipment here in Ontario Canada. I saw an expansion kit for the 8 inch tom here on Amazon but it's not available. Ron says this would be a great kit for a young boy or girl to begin playing on instead of spending a couple thousand dollars on a kit and cymbals then having to try and sell it if they do not like it. easy to set up and make the adjustments - Height - angle etc. The pre programmed music could be a little longer than it is also. Other than that He is enjoying playing them and says they are great value for the price. Don't forget to order an amp and a simple guitar cord to run them through. DK - 35 watt works well.

CF: This drumset is really spot on for the money.
Got it at a very low price; but even if you would pay it 399 as the MSRP advertised, it would be a good purchase.

First of all, this is a cheap drumset; do not expect anything beyond what you pay for; but this does not mean that it is a bad item. It is aimed at first timer, to anyone that wants to try electric drumsets, and to anyone that have fun playing videogames like Rockband, since you can connect this drumset to your console (more on this later on).

The overall setup is pretty simple; there is a module with a ton of cables, each cable goes into one sensor. They are all looking similar, except that 3 are toms, so they have only one hit area (the pad), while one is a snare, so you get the center area and the rim area to hit. Same for the crash, which has 2 hit zones, while the other 2 plates has just one.

Then you have the pedals, one attached to a sensor, which simulate pretty well the kick (it looks solid and it is chain operated), while the other pedal is used to control the hi-hat, so you can use it solo or in conjunction with the hat sensor. The cables are all labelled so can't do any...

Matthew: An extravagant present for the children. I want them to get into playing music and previously I'd had to bodily drag them out of a music shop with a electronic drum kit SOooo... no brainer (at this point I'll also admit that I wanted an electronic drum kit too!). For reference the children are 5 & 7.

Is it good? Firstly the slightly annoying things - the instruction sheet to put it together could be printed a little better - it's OK but would be better if it were a line art or Lego style instructions as the photos can be hard to read. But this is no problem, got it up anyway.

The kit itself is good, stands up ok, takes a fair beating and with 2 pedals, a kick pad, 4 tom/snare pads and 3 cymbal/ride/hat you really shouldn't complain.

The snare his edge detection, the hi hat and hat pedal work well in conjunction for open/closed hi hat combos. The kick feels good and meaty.

The controller module (from where the sounds come) does feel a bit dated. The basic sounds are excellent drum sounds but there's only so much this box does. Yeah, it has hundreds of sounds but they are not terribly modern of progressive for the main part. Naturally this is easy to...

Vittal: An acoustic drum kit is just not an option for a typical house or an apartment complex, unless you have a studio or you live in the middle of nowhere. Forget the neighbours, people in the house will have their ears blasted with the deafening beats.

Therefore, after looking at options for electronic kits, comparing Roland TD11K and Alesis DM6, I decided on this for its affordablity and recent release.
I chose Bajao as the seller, with the price around 33k. Bajao was the only name I'd heard of before and plus among the other sellers Bajao's was the least price.

Ordered on 13th and received on 17th.
The kit comes as a single 20kg box. The packaging was good. All the parts are neatly arranged into its respective boxes, the rack in one box, the cymbals in another, etc. Assembly is pretty straight forward, using the manual in the Accessories box. Having a friend to help out makes it easier. Took about 2 hours to assemble.

I've played the kit for a few days and here are some observations, (I play drums occasionally)
1. Both the hi hat and kick pad come with Velcro at the bottom to grip to a carpet, but if you don't have a carpet, it definitely won't stay in...
