Author and Investment guru: I blew $150 on another product and it did not work at all, so perhaps I am biased when I express my happiness with this simple, cheap, slow, yet effective product. It is a workhorse — it will get the job done; just give it time. It is extremely lightweight and easy to move around. The plastic hose is a bit short, so there is a case for buying a separate hose on your own, but it works fine otherwise.

Christopher from Westchester: I use this little pump to empty a small spa. I simply drop it in the spa, position the hose so the water goes where I want it to, and plug it in. It takes between one and two hours to empty 250-300 gallons of water from the spa. Then I just unplug it and let it dry off. No issues. No complaints. It does exactly what it is supposed to do with no fuss at all. Highly recommend.

Joanne H.: I thought 850gph, meant 850 gallons per hour. We have an inter pool 10 ft x 3 ft. Roughly 1,000 gallons. We had the pool draining by a hose through drain AND using pump with included tubing over the side. Still took hours. Perhaps the 850 GPH is only with draining down a slope with the largest adapter.

But the pump is best to get the last 30 or so gallons out when the water drops below the level of pool’s drain plug.

In hindsight, I just noticed a slightly bigger pump, 25% more expensive, but it has an adapter that you can hookup a standard hose to. Wish I had bought that one.
